East Side Restrooms

Drove by the stadium today and noticed work progressing on the east side restrooms. From what I saw, I would be surprised if they were done before the first home game. Found this link that estimated the cost to be $400k. Seems like a lot for some restrooms. You would think you could have gotten a concession stand or two added in there for that much. But my wife and kids will be very happy to have these new facilities. :-D

They should carve out that whole side and put stuff like concession stands and merchandise stands as well as the bathrooms, that would be sweet,

Yeah I question the timing of this project. Why didn't they start it earlier to ensure it was done so that Stewart Stadium would look as good as possible for the home opener that is also on TV? Was it poor planning or does it have more to do with their Fiscal year budget didnt start until July 1? Either way they seem to be taking forever to build 2 restrooms.
I agree with SWcat, for $400,000 you would think that would include some permanent concession stands. :twocents:

If the restrooms are big and nice, as they should be, then $400,000 is not that much for them. Just think about the plumbing, heating, lighting and structural elements that go into something like that, and that they have to work around other structures in the close proximity, without messing anything up or else replacing it. :twocents:

It's a cinder block building. Cinder blocks are NOT expensive. and when you buy plumbing and electrical supplies as a contractor you get them in bulk and at a MUCH discounted price. Just add the damn concessions stands already.

State project, contractors push up the price. I know it is all crap (hahaha) but that is what happens. Along with the building, plumbing, electrical, there is the matter of sewage. I think, from what it looks like, they attached it to existing sewage options, which could have been pretty expensive. No matter, 400,000 seems really high.

Two, large, well equipped restrooms could easily cost more than a house of the same size. I'm sure that we are not getting two outhouses. :yikes:

I dont know what type of house you talking about, it aint like they putting in a solid gold piss wall up there.
Thank goodness the season is almost here so we have something to debate other than the bathrooms.

A solid gold piss wall. I would walk all the way over from the press box to piss on that! The only nice thing we have in our restrooms, beside fixtures that work, are baby changing stations, and who wants those little turds around anyway.

Tomorrow night can't come soon enough if you ask me. We really, really need something, anything, better to talk about than the pisser on the east side.

A piss wall? Who doesn't enjoy that awkward intimacy among men? I guess it is one step better than the open trough. Wyoming has those. Guess that's where Broke Back found its energy.

Anyone have a pic of the building they can post?

I won't be up until the Sept 6 game.

I'm going to miss the shocked look of visiting fans when they see the piss wall. Last year one guy from Stephen F. Austin said (after he picked his jaw from the ground) that he hand't seen a bathroom like that since his army days 30 years ago.

Shocking opposing teams fans for 50+ years!! Weber State's piss wall!

Visited the new restrooms on Saturday. Very nice. Well done getting them finished in time. :thumb:

Me too, I tried to get my RAMP tax worth-- the bathroom at Mt. Ogden Park has a sign on it stating the facility was made possible through a RAMP tax-- so, that's the random reference (joke). It is quite nice, almost $400K nicer than what was there.

Sounds like the new bathrooms were quite the hit. Guess it'll be alright to visit during games rather than doing everything in your power to hold it so that you didn't have to deal with the trailer potty.
