Eastern Washington selects Spokane’s ALSC Architects for predesign of renovated football stadium

This is good to hear, the new AD may be able to pull this off. I think the key to success, when compared to the Gateway Project, is the price tag. $60m to add 10k seats and donor suites? I’m certain Eastern could’ve had a new stadium (like SIU, ETSU & UCD) built for $60m, so not only was the price tag high, but it also was a very good bargain. WSU’s Cougars Athletic Complex was mentioned, as well as “improved fan amenities, restrooms, concessions, athletic offices and training facilities are a focus..” which could be a sign that Hickey has a Football Complex at the stadium site in mind & perhaps as the focus of this “renovation”. If an eastside grandstand is included in the project, I think the cost should be limited to $5m-$10m. Hickey, whom still isn’t willing to mention a timetable of the project’s completion, is aware that funding may not be easy, with the statement “You have to have the money before you starting digging,” that’s got me thinking this project should have a fundraising goal that’s easily attainable.

Already mentioned in the renovation thread, but I encourage everyone to hit the link and leave comments.
