Eastern Washington @ Southern Utah: GDT

This may be a tougher game than first thought, they just clobbered the highly regarded Weber Wildcats. A couple of my memories of trips to Cedar City.
-They have a tradition of herding sheep down main street. All hail the sheep! They did leave a trail of #$%$ that stuck to my tires :ohno:
-They have a great BBQ place, looking forward to that.
-Jordan West was starting one of his first games and it did not turn out good.
Long drive to Vegas.
Lets not Coug it, beat the 'birds

Seeing Eastern play a game in Cedar City is on my bucket list. I can only judge based off pictures, but the setting for that stadium looks beautiful, I love the mountains. I am hopeful the schedule works out in the not too distant future that EWU will play road games in Cedar City and Flagstaff close together so I could stay down there a couple weeks and catch both.

Anyway, yeah SUU has been looking really good lately and the last 3 times Eastern has gone down there the Thunderbirds have played them very tough. I expect more of the same on Saturday. This looks to be the best team remaining on Eastern's schedule, if they can get out of there with a win, they will be in a very good spot going into the bye.

I'm not buying that SDSU isn't a good team so SUU's win against UNI is looking better as is their road throttling of SFA who gave both SHSU and UCA fits.

They have a good QB and play solid defense unless it's Oregon or SAC.

Interesting matchup and a really big game for us.

SUU is a strange animal. Some great wins and some terrible losses. Gave up 54 in a bad loss to Sac State. Gave up 70+ to a pretty average (by Pac-12 standards) Oregon. Hard to know what to expect. My guess is they are pretty good.

I don't think SUU is good. I think this was more of a fluke game than an indication of things to come.

This was a rivalry game where Weber didn't have their starting QB. Think about what PSU tries to do to us every year.

To be fair, Weber didn't look good even when they had their starting QB in the first half. I watched the entire game. SUU Just throttled them. They are a very good team and they're probably the toughest remaining game on our schedule.

Weber looked all out of sorts in that game. I couldn't explain it. The eye test showed Weber was generally both bigger and more physical than Southern Utah. What Weber lacks that Southern Utah has is team speed. Southern Utah's defense has been all over the place this season; they've looked great and horrible in different games. My broad-brush read on them is that they are pretty good defensively and play more of a ball control type of offense--- and teams that work slowly but efficiently have given us problems.
