eGriz: The Bobby Bashing Must Stop

Obviously to most of the Grizz fans, winning is the only thing. There have been numerous felonies committed by UM football players. Does the coach think that all of that is ok? Were the offending players really "punished"? Missing one game - is that really appropriate for putting a fellow student in the hospital for a couple of days? If this were an isolated case, I can understand, but this is happening every year. So I guess that the Montana fans are just fine with the student body getting beat up by the football team as long as they win. NO WONDER I HATE MONTANA FANS!!!!

Yes, Felonies. That is in the plural sense of the word also. I don't know the exact number, but it is quite a few.

Look over the past 5 years and you'll be astonished. It doesn't matter, Hauck wins games, and for the greater majority of Montana, they are more concerned about Big Sky Championships than they are about coaches with good morals....you can't brag a whole lot about a team with great student-athletes and a poor football record...you know that.

the whole town shuts down for football on saturdays, kind of freaky, but hey, when you live in snow 7 months of the year, a couple of saturdays cheering for the grizzlies with billy bob, freddie boy, and cousin zack...well, that's living.

Drastic change needs drastic thoughts....it'll never happen.......they'd rather win than be accountable.

and the felonies are not only off the field, look at the refs and how they have been blowing calls. 4 CALLS in the EWU game alone....come' on.....it's obvious...politics/power/money.

Best to let the Griz stew in their own distractions and leave them alone, except for whipping their butts on the feld.

TOTALLY AGREE

JUST WIN BABY, JUST WIN

Good luck. You'll need it.

Agreed, especially after reading the press release on BigSkyConf.com about the officiating in the EWU @ UM game.

Seriously? We're six days before kickoff. Are you already whining about the refs??

Are you kidding me? Last year when Montana came down to Weber State and got MANHANDLED, there were a couple Grizz fans that I talked to after the game that were bitching and moaning about the calls of the referees and also the weather conditions, even the feild because we play on grass instead of turf. I mean "for shit sakes" whining about the weather. Just an FYI... in case you've forgotten... you live in HELL, plain and simple, otherwise known as Missoulla. And for the "grass" field, should that have mattered? Plus, everyone in the Big Sky whines about the refs... not just the dudes from Weber State, but you cocky sons of bitches in MT, and the hippies in Greeley and Sacramento. We are not the only ones that whine.

Hey if the Big Sky Conference can whine about the refs I think it's legit to be worried about them. just ask EW. They woulda won if the Ref's had any cajones

Hmm. I think I struck a nerve. Before you get too worked up and defensive, you should know that I'm not one of those UM fans that you encountered last year. Refs blow calls, I get that, but rarely do I believe a game's outcome is decided by a missed call.

I'll hand it to Weber, you have a very, very good team, and I think Saturday's game will be a shootout. As far as the name-calling, etc., I'm not sure what your deal is there. For one, I take it you haven't spent a whole lot of time in Missoula. Secondly, the Griz (please get it right...it's ONE "Z") had 4 turnovers last year in Ogden and that will cost you most games, especially against a good team like Weber. That didn't happen in the playoff game last year and I don't expect it to be the case on Saturday.

I've met quite a few Weber fans and have found, for the most part, that they are just good football fans who like competitive matchups and don't mind a little banter as well. Then there are some who can't get out of their own way. I'm wondering where this arrogance comes from. What has Weber done recently besides beat UM last year and split a conf title? One thing you have to admit about the Griz...they rarely lose games they are expected to win. Weber on the other hand, should have won the title outright last year with a win over EWU and tell me how in the hell you lose to MSU at home??

Anyways, see you in "HELL" this weekend.

last year our fans found that most UM fans were decent, with the exception of UM"s students, who were disrespectful, drunken ignorant fools.

I don't know how the hell we lost that game. All I know is I don't like to talk about it because it makes me cry. You sound like a Griz (one 'Z') fan that has his head on straight. We will be up this Saturday for the game and would love to have a "REAL" tailgate party 'in the freezing temperature.' Also, I offer my skills of the art of BBQ if you want a few Wilcat steaks.

Good to hear. UM student section frequently receives that type of review.
