get your travel plans ready, hoops fans.....ESPN announced the BracketBuster matchups. And i see:

"Sacramento State (2-8, 5-16) will travel to Southeast Missouri State (4-8, 5-17) of the Ohio Valley Conference."

uggh....lovely Cape Girardeau, Missouri in mid February.

I just vomited in my mouth. Somehow all the other Big Sky teams land a regional game and we are shafted with a game in buttfucknowhere. Wonderful.

Im ok with it. We get the return home game from a D-I school to actually come into the Hornets Nest, other than Poly, ucd or Bako. Take a look at SEMO's record....actually a winnable game.

Really like their facility, even though it's older... The "Show Me" Center is pretty nice.

We’ve had plenty of winnable OOC games this season which we came up on the short end on. SEMO doesn’t appear to be stellar but the Hornets have had some serious road woes this season. I’m also curios as to who has to fund this trip.

TV Money from the ESPN games to the conferences I guess? Doubt the school would agree to pay for a random trip mid-season without knowing exactly the cost..

UOP's pretty much in the same boat over in the Big West. JRCC gets the Griz and Northridge gets EWU, but the Tigers have to go to 9-14 Oral Roberts, which will likely be a meaningless blowout win for UOP. I don't understand how the teams I like get shafted with meaningless BB games outside of the general area (and goodness knows if ESPN fronts the travel costs or the schools do), while everyone around them gets good regional matchups.

UOP was complaining before about getting the crap of the "Old Big West" (SJSU, NMSU, etc). I guess for them, the shoe's on the other foot now. But regardless, both UOP and Sac might be better served pulling out of BB in the future if crap games like these (I was surprised to find that SEMO has only 7 wins on a crap schedule including losses to Tulsa and Little Rock). A second Causeway might serve us better....

I follow College Hoop fairly close, yes, the Hornets should be able to beat this squad, but a cross-country trek, combined with Hornet confidence on the Road....TV broadcast....its a very tough game

Tulsa isn't exactly crap, nor is ALR, although both down a bit this year, especially Tulsa. Like I said, absolutely the Hornets can win this game, it's just that they probably won't.

Welcome to Sac Buzz Sutterstigner! :)
