ESPN write-up on Weber State

Very nice write-up on Weber State. However, it's riddled with factual errors. WSU lost in the Big Sky Championship in Lillard's final year at WSU, not the semis (they lost in the semis in 2010-11). Also, Joel Bolomboy did not win WAC Newcomer of the Year. For starters, he doesn't even play in the WAC and didn't even win Big Sky (the conference he actually plays in) Newcomer of the Year or Freshman of the Year awards.

I liked this line though:
In other words, this is the season Weber State might finally break through -- just 17 months after waving farewell to one of the best young players in the NBA. I'm pretty sure that's not how it's supposed to work. But Weber State just keeps getting better.

Wow...this guy isn't much of a journalist, but I do appreciate his article on Weber State. Funny, he is writing about the Big Sky Conference, so how did Joel Bolomboy suddenly end up getting the WAC POY award? I guess that WAC was that bad last year, that they gave an award to a Big Sky athlete.

Haha. I commented on his mistakes and he went in and made corrections, and STILL didn't get it right. It now says Bolomboy was the Big Sky Newcomer of the Year, which he wasn't. Berry was...

HA!! Journalism at its best!! :thumb:

On a related note, Jon has previewed every team in the conference for ESPN.com. You have to be an ESPN insider to view (the Sac St preview is free), but I'm sure Jon has done an admirable job. If anyone has an insider account, maybe you can copy and paste the Weber preview here.

Anyone who read's Jon's blog can pretty much get a free Big Sky preview there. He's very thorough and fair to everyone in the conference.

Jon...come on dude, hook some brother's up!!

Knowing Jon, I'm sure it was an expertly written summary. If there is one person who knows the Sky better than me. It is Jon, but just barely. I know for damn sure it isn't Catcat.

SLight problem with the photo on the Weber season prediction which you can see clicking the link in the article.

Caption talks about Davion Berry, but unless my eyes are not working, I think that is Gelaun

I think you're right, definitely not Dev.

My only mistake... I had to write this preview about two months ago (back when Gelaun was still the starter), so there are a couple references to WSU having 7 of their top 9 guys back... oops! Also, they accidentally put that Jeremy Senglin is a junior rather than a freshman!

Maybe it was a conspiracy stemming from other Big Sky coaches hoping that Senglin was only a Jr. and not merely a Fresh.

Excellent write-up Jon. You represent the Sky expertly!!
