Two winnable games. Win these two and we go 5-1 which is a start far and above what I was expecting out of this team. So far they have surprised me. The coach seems to be getting the best out of his team.

Not sure I can assess how good Easter is at this point, but they are usually solid. PSU seems to be struggling but they did beat Montana. I also find myself rooting for Gary Winston Jr., because I work with his dad Gary Winston Sr. Winston Jr. as well as Michael Weisner (Montana) both went to the school I currently work at and Michael was a student of mine for 2 years, so even though they play for the enemy I want them to do well. If only they had gone to NAU, It would be a dream come true.

Lets hope for a good week. Go Jack!

One down, two to go. This team is playing pretty good ball right now. They more than handled a very good Eastern team. The new transfers are playing well. I really like Quinton Upshure's game. He is proving to be a very valuable pick. I think he is our most talented player but he does get a solid help from Jacobson and Dixon while Bewernick provides some good leadership. Ako Kaluna is a player I was very excited to see, but so far he has dissapointed. He is big, but not as agressive and fearless as I was expecting him to be. He is young so that will come with time. He had a good night tonight scoring 17 points. Hope he develops into a power on the inside.

Way to go Jacks!! Let's get PSU :thumb:

Women got blasted at EWU :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: They continue to struggle. They've been in quite a funk for a very long time. It's very sad to see players like Amanda Frost and Amy Patton go through the program and never even make the Big Sky Tournament because they suck so bad. What's the key to changing this program around? It seems like ever since they made the NCAA Tournament in 2006, they've been cursed to losing seasons since. Get it together NAU Ladies. You can do much, much better than this

Looks like NAU could challenge for the Big Sky which I did not see coming from the couple of games I saw earlier...
They look to be playing as a team and probably needed time to figure out who they are with all the transfers...

yea, after the departure of that guard who shall remain nameless  I thought this team was toast. Nice to see they've regrouped and are playing as a team. They seem to have chemistry and know each other's strengths. Props to the coach for figuring it out and putting out a team that is competitive.

What a great weekend! Surprising to see how NAU handled EWU and PSU with ease. There was a stretch there in the first half where I thought PSU was taking control of the game. NAU couldn't stop their big center as he was scoring at will. Glad to see they came right back to tie the game at half time. Nice effort by Yanku. I would like to see Chris Miller play more minutes. He is a very talented freshman who needs to develop. Jacobson continues his solid season. He has turned out to be a very reliable man in the middle.

Very happy about this weekend. The women even blew out PSU at PSU :o :D :D

McClintock...Boykin...Landry...Johanssen...Jacobsen.

NAU has had a decent run of efficient big men. It may take a bit for Len Springs to get his chops on the scoring end but holy cow, is his defensive present in the post fun to watch.

yea he's a blocking machine. He needs to bulk up a little more. Kaluna may be the one to fill the shoes of the mentioned. I had forgotten about Shane Johanssen. Good player.
