EWU at Florida in 2020

Was wondering how long it was going to take for this...wonder what the payout was....who cares!! This is cool. Way to give back!
 
Smart, high profile game. Hopefully a big payout. It would be nice to be playing them this season, before Coach McElwain has time to load up them up with is players. This will almost certainly be the most-attended game we've ever been involved in when it happens (the record now is something like 65k at BYU).

Now it's time to take these payouts and bring some FCS fresh meat into Cheney to beat on!
 
Well Florida is playing Northern Colorado next season. You have to wonder if we're going to more Big Sky teams playing Florida.

Also, Florida paid Idaho almost $1 million in 2014 for a game that wound up being cancelled. I have to imagine that this should be a similar payout.
 
So let's schedule $1 Million dollar games for the next 40 years...plus interest and then we have our Gateway Project :-)
 
I think that the last FCS team the Gators played was back in 2009, against Charleston Southern. They usually stick with the FBS cupcakes or mid-range FBS teams. This is great for EWU! Go Eags! Good Job, Bill Chaves! :thumb:
 
What an unbelievable opportunity for all of us to go experience one of the premiere SEC game day's and watch our team in the process!
 
Jim McElwain was always a class guy, and loyal to Eastern, so I'm not surprised he is doing this. As I understand it we almost had him as our coach when he was at Fresno State, but we didn't have enough money to pay what he wanted for his assistants. Not being able to hire him wasn't that great a loss considering who got the job here at that time!
 
This will be a nice pay day and a helluva trip...

Anyone know what the payout is? My guess is somewhere around $700 or $800k
