HERMISTON — Defensive end Tre Neal provided big stops on back-to-back drives in the fourth quarter, and his teammates took care of the rest as the South came from behind for a 16-14 win over the North on Saturday in the 2016 Les Schwab Tires Bowl at Hillsboro Stadium.

Neal, a recent Hermiston High graduate who will attend and play football at Eastern Washington University in the fall, was named Lineman of the Game for the South after finishing with seven tackles (two solo) and 2.5 tackles for loss.

“It was a great honor,” he said. “There was a lot of great linemen there from all over Oregon.”

Neal was held without a sack, but twice got into the backfield to drag down North running back King Weatherly (Beaverton) to thwart the North’s attempts to seal the win in the fourth quarter.

“That’s usually how I go out,” Neal said of a productive second half. “I do about half as good in the first half, I’m more of a second-half player.

“I feel like I did, for not practicing or having training since the end of the season, I feel like did OK.”

The North took a 14-10 lead on a 26-yard pass to start the fourth quarter, but saw its first full drive of the quarter end after Neal and linebacker Lukas Adams (Sherwood) met Weatherly in the backfield for a loss of two on third-and-one.

I wonder why he isn't on the latest football roster (6/7/16) that lists all of the other incoming freshman who signed letters of intent in February- maybe will be a prop?

He's listed that he signed...don't think props can "sign". Odd that of all the recruits...when you click on his name nothing comes up...quite odd.

To All,
Tre Neal is not on the Eagle FB Roster as of June 7th. Possibly his name was left off, could be Clearing House Problems, or grades. Here is hoping by the time school starts in Sept he will be squared away. Some of the Players stated they must be back by Aug 7th. Went out yesterday for the MBB Camp, closed to Reece court, all kind of Water Pipes being installed, more Handy Cap Spots for FB, and the New LED Lighting abound Campus are being installed, especially in FB Parking Lot. GREAT TO BE AN AMERICAN", Happy 4th to ALL". Vic Wallace

talon38,
Spoke to your son, he stated you are having fun being checked out on the New 787. That is a big Mother, and you still are flying the over seas route. Well hope to see you and the family when the season starts. He also stated the Evan Day is working towards his degree. Hope every thing is going well with you and family. Take care. Vic Wallace
