EWU from overwhelming fav to last for 2021-22?

the brothers groves are in the transfer portal plus 1 other player and they had 2 seniors, so 5 gone, oh it might be worth mentioning their coach was hired by Portland U. :shocking:

have we ever seen the reigning big sky mvp transfer?

That is very interesting I would have picked them to be the overwhelming favorite next season with all those guys but not anymore. I think we have a very good squad coming back I also believe Montana will be very tough and Southern Utah next season. I guess we will have to wait and see what seniors opted to come back for their extra year. Montana state had several seniors so if they come back the Bobcats could be very good as well

I don't think that EWU will drop all the way to last. They may not drop at all. We really don't know. With a new coach, it's all up in the air. We will need to see how he recruits. :coffee:

With all the rats jumping ship up in Cheney, Washington, it's looking more and more like there may be truth to the rumors that EWU will be dropping to D11. It just doesn't look good for them. Seems like UI, PSU, Poly, and UNCo have been on that road lately as well.

It may be a whole new world, post pandemic.

With SUU dropping down and posibly a few other low buget programs following suit, the BSC could be getting better by subtraction. Who knows? :coffee:

Interesting Development:
It will be very interesting to see how things develop. I don't expect to see any BSC coaches being fired this year (unless their contract is expiring) due to budget reductions due to COVID so the only way we'll see new coaches coming in is through coaches moving up to higher level programs. . . Eastern's coach being hired by Portland is a bit of a surprise though because although Portland is in a higher conference (WCC v BSC) it is on the lower end of that conference and although a bigger program than Easter Washington is now. Perhaps he saw the writing on the wall.

Wow! Rats jumping ship? Coach leaves for double the money and the players make a decision to leave and search for the best opportunity for their future and they’re rats? You might want to take a second and see how much EWU and the conference made off of the NCAA first round game. It’s funny how free enterprise applies to everything except College athlete's! A music major can cut an album, make millions of dollars and still be eligible for their scholarship. A basketball player can endorse a restaurant for a free meal and is no longer considered an amateur and lose their scholarship. It’s a very flawed system. It’s hilarious that a walk on player is subjected to the same rules and transfer regulations as a scholarship player, even if they’re paying their own way! The first thing we hear is that these players are getting the privilege of a free education! Well what if the player’s family is able to pay for his or her education? The player is still limited to the rules of the NCAA!

It’s time that the NCAA figures out how to properly compensate these kids. Versus spending all their time and effort pimping them. The players at EWU shouldn’t be limited in their opportunities. I’d like to see them remain at EWU, but respect their decision to do what they think is right for their future. The money coaches and administrators are making is crazy, but players are rats if they choose to leave a school and chart their own path....... funny comments from a supporter of a team who’s roster is dominated by transfers!

Referring to the ship sinking, that is all.
