EWU Game

Wow! I am shocked about you guys losing to MSU last weekend but totally expect a hungry WSU team this weekend in Cheney. This should be a really good game and expect it to be close but I like our chances in this one. I think you will be surprised how good our defense is this year. How many Weber fans are going to be making the trip to Cheney?

I will be flying to Spokane from Denver for the game. There will be a contingent of our regular away game travelers coming. We are planning a tailgate since one of our players is from WA and his family and friends are pulling some trailers over to tailgate.

I agree it should be a good game. EWU is rolling now and Weber is ready to cut down on the mistakes they have been making the last few games. It should be an exciting high scoring game with 2 really good offenses trading blows. Hope the weather is decent. I will never forget the miserable weather we had for the Weber vs. EWU game in Cheney in 2007. Driving wind and rain the entire game and the visiting team bench area had about 1 foot of standing water.

I'd love to see Weber play mistake free for the first time this season. Right now, the Cats are under achieving. Personally, I think Eastern's defense has looked pretty good, but their two Conference wins are against a UNC team that hadn't figured out how to move the ball yet, and ISU. UNC has been hampered by injuries this season. When the two teams met (16-0 win for Eastern), UNC had three inexperienced OL playing a fairly complicated offensive system when they met Eastern. But UNC's defense, who spent a lot of time on the field, did a great job of limiting Easterns offense. Thats great news for Weber. UNC's defense is about the same as Weber's. Just Weber's offense is far better. Also, Weber's defensive front should be back to full strength with Eastman coming back. Eastman and Linehan cause serious match-up issues and makes the defense much deeper. Also, it helps limit the running game, which has been killing the Cats the last couple of weeks.
