EWU HC Baldwin OUT

EWU HC Baldwin has left EWU to become the OC at Cal.

Cal: Eastern Washington head coach Beau Baldwin will be the new offensive coordinator at Cal, per multiple reports. Baldwin is 83-32 in nine years at EWU, including six FCS playoff appearances. He went 12-2 this past season finished third in FCS in scoring at 42.4 points per game. EWU quarterback Gage Gubrud led FCS with 5,160 passing yards.

That makes it two coaches lost for EWU, HC & Co-OC (which went to Utah). The FBS'ers pick up the successful FCS coaches when ready for the pickin. :kisswink:

Let's enjoy Jay Hill for as long as we can. Anyone know what his contract is (yrs & $$)?? Sure hope AD Bovee tries to keep him here by extending it with a raise.

Nice to see Coach Hill at the basketball game Sat night with his family...looked like they were enjoying themselves & Coach was mingling with some of the fans, looked like there were some football players there in the student section, maybe some visiting possible recruits? :coffee:

Contracts don't matter, Baldwin signed an extension last week with EWU. Lot of good that did for EWU

Tis good for the successful coaches to be able to move up when opportunity calls. Would imagine that even moving from a HC Big Sky position to an assistant coach spot at a Pac12 team would be doubling the salary, more or less.

At least EWU offered & HC Baldwin signed an extension, you can't blame him for making a move to his benefit, he's earned it.

That's why I was wondering if Jay Hill's contract was for 4 yrs, meaning that if a successful season this year, surely AD Bovee will at least make a move to keep him here?? There's likely some FBS'ers sniffing around. I know the FCS $$ can't compare, but it's worth making the contract effort. :twocents:
