EWU/Idaho

Both the Eagles and Vandals are 1-1 after the first week of conference play. Both beat North Dakota and both lost to Northern Colorado. We head out on the road again, needing wins after a loss at Sacramento State, where fortyminutesofchaos was transformed into a plodding mess. It is difficult to win conference games on the road, but we need both of these. With the Montana schools coming to town the following week, 1-2 or 0-3 simply won't cut it.

Ye who doth not respect the road in this conference are lost.

There’s always unhinged hostile crowds and referees susceptible to them. There’s the travel, the elevation in Flagstaff and Greeley and Cedar City and Bozeman. There’s some proud traditions in Ogden and Missoula and Moscow.

For those of you that prefer a radio broadcast of tonight's game the EWU feed is here: https://tunein.com/radio/Eastern-Washington-Eagles-Sports-Network-s273711/

PSU up 40-38 at the half at EWU. Viks are 0-9 from three point land.

I had heard that the SWX feed cuts out occasionally on Pluto and now I see it. A bit frustrating trying to watch it.

A few other scores, Weber up 12 on NAU, Montana on North Dakota big, and Montana State ahead of Northern Colorado.

Idaho barely squeaked by Sac State last night, 69-68. Saturday's game won't be any easier as the Vandals will want to make a statement.

The Vandals are 5 and 0 at home. In Big Sky play we are 0 and 2 on the road.

Idaho comes in to the game with a record of 10-5, including a win over their Palouse big brother Washington State. The Vandals are 2-1 in conference play, beating North Dakota and Sacramento State and losing at Northern Colorado. The Vandals were picked to win the conference this year. Out of our first three conference road games, this one looked to be the toughest of the three. Based on our performances the first two conference games, we will need to play extremely well to even stay close.

Finals earlier in the Big Sky,

Montana State 79, North Dakota 68. Bobcats improve to 4-0 in conference.
Eastern Washington 82, Sacramento State 67
Weber State 92, Southern Utah 76.
Idaho State 64. Northern Arizona 60. Bengals also go to 4-0 in conference.

Finally a win for the Viks, beating Idaho 73-72. Woods with a basket off a Strickland three try with .6 seconds left gets the win.
