EWU @ PSU Game Day Thread

I've wanted to go to this game the last two times (2016 and 2014) and since I'm a westsider its a chance to take in an extra game a little closer to home but haven't made it sine my wife works at a bank (till 6pm on Fridays) and they always move this game to Friday. Well not missing this year! My daughter (recent grad) really wanted to make the game in Pullman but we waited too long to get tickets. About 3 weeks ago I said hey Marci(my daughter) lets go to the PSU game in Portland and she said "lets do it!" So we have our tickets and are doing the pregame with the alumni red zone.

Kinda bummed the game was moved to Hillsboro but what the hell! Last time the game was in Rip city
(don't know why they call it that) it looked like there was more Eagle fans then there was Portland St. fans (kinda sad) and oh ya, Ldopa was warning us about where not to park so you wouldn't get your car trashed by the Anarchists (I cant remember what they were protesting about, plastic straws maybe?) but Hillsboro does have some positives over downtown!

Well, who else is going?

Myself, my dad and about 3 others. I believe we are meeting up at Front Row bar and grill before the game. https://www.yelp.com/biz/front-row-bar-and-grill-hillsboro All are welcome to come hang out with us before and take some eagle football!

My wife and I will be there. What are the chances Eagle fans outnumber PSU fans?

Haha, 100%. I have attended the past 3 games at PSU and EWU fans usually outnumber PSU fans 4:1

Pretty good.

I'll be there. Hillsboro Stadium is actually a better venue than an empty Civic Stadium (providence park), trust me. Sucks that it's a lot further from my home 5 minutes from downtown though. EWU fans will 100% outrank PSU fans. Last time we drank the bar out of fireball and everyone was singing the fight song so loud you couldn't hear any of the PSU fans.

i will be there with a crew of 10 or so... going to try and set up a tailgate in the parking lot looks like they allow it at Hillsboro Stadium,

Most opposing fan bases outnumber PSU fans. There was a year where NAU fans outnumbered the PSU fans. There were also less than 1000 fans at that game.

Me and a friend will be there if we make it through the Portland gridlock in time, also hoping to chat with any Eagle tailgaiters too. GOOOOOO Eags!

Hey, that sounds like fun and looks like a nice place, may have to squeeze that in!

Man this seems a little arrogant, especially since the Eags beat Portland last year... Hope Coach Best had this on his personal bulletin board. Full context provided due to the fact I don't own any journalistic credentials so refuse to sway your emotions with lies of omission. :)

“Everyone had the question, ‘Aaron Best, he’s an offensive lineman, what’s he doing as a head coach?’ ” Barnum said of Best, who took over the EWU program in 2017 when Beau Baldwin was named offensive coordinator at California. “But he’s doing a helluva job, keeping it going and picking it up. Adding to it.”

(For those who prefer standard media approach)

Tell me that isn't messing with your emotions...

Let's crank it up. #LeaveNoDoubt

Apparently this game was originally scheduled to be televised on Root, but due to some sort of scheduling conflict moved to Friday night at Hillsboro. Very Busche League if you ask me. I just hope the Pluto stream actually works. I’ve not had good luck with that with any road games.

Pluto on my old laptop is funky but the Roku version seems to work better. All the damn browsers make it hard to watch on Watch BigSky due to tracking, ad blockers and encryption requirements they artificially impose. Firefox is the easiest to bypass for me. Once bypassed though has worked well for me the last couple of non-Root games.

I think this is a little tongue-in-cheek. Barnum is also a former offensive lineman from none other than Eastern Washington University.
