Ok Hornet fans, this is the week we've been waiting for. Obviously we have to get a good performance from Mikh and Dylan but who else do you think will step it up this week?? I think Cody has been playing great on both ends. He will get to face guard Harvey this week if Harvey is back, and on the other end we need to get about 12-15pts from him. It was good to see Zach start getting his shooting touch back as we need about 8-10 from him also. Alex and Eric need to stop Venky and get about 16-18pts and 10-12 boards between them. Nick needs to be opportune as usual (pick off a few passes, get a few assists, and snatch about 8 boards). Sounds easy huh??? It won't be. Any thoughts??? GO HORNETS!!!!!!!!

Another 1st place showdown. I don’t think there is any doubt that EWU is going to play Harvey. No way he misses this game. That said, the Hornets will need to play a great game to win this. If they play sloppy like they did against PSU then we don’t stand a chance. This should be a good one, and the winning team probably gets the BSC regular season crown and BSC player of the year (McKinney or Harvey).

I hear Tyler Harvey is not a sure thing to play Thursday. If he doesn't play then Cody sticks to Brandon and makes it difficult for him to initiate the offense. Von Hofe will probably get the start in Harvey's absence but he is much easier to guard than Harvey. Without Harvey, our main concern is contain Jois and Bliznyuk from going off on us. It changes the whole dynamic on defense but we can't game plan for them not having Harvey. We have to game plan for Harvey whether he plays or not.

I agree. Have to game plan for Harvey, and then have a non-Harvey game plan in your back pocket just in case. Harvey was run ragged in Sac trying to guard McKinney and Garrity, he would be at a significant disadvantage if he tried to defend them at less than 100%.

Here we are Hornet fans, BIG GAME DAY, we need to shoot the ball well enough to stay with EWU and in the end I believe our seniors will pull out the win. Experience rises to the top when the going gets tough. Our leaders have been making the plays to win all year long. If this is a close game we win...if it isn't close...who knows???? We are capable of having a game where we can blow out anyone (we haven't had a COMPLETE game like that all year...time for the team to put a whole game together) but I can live with less than a complete blow out. Biggest game in Sac St. D1 history. I see Kadeezy has predicted a win for EWU on their board, I hope he is as wrong as he has been 6 times this year already (according to his preseason predictions). This is what we have been waiting a long time for. GO HORNETS!!!!!!

My heart says we're going to win, but 20+ years as a Hornet fan says otherwise. So which side wins, emotion or data?

This has me worried too. He is right more often than not. Should be a good game tonight either way. I think the first 5-8 minutes of the game will tell us how things will go for us.

Yeah, I'm worried about this game. I'd say we lose it and maybe even Idaho the way they played here, but this season the Hornets know how to pull out the close games and win them instead of losing them like years past. So, that means, if we are close at the end, I think we'll win it - again!

No Harvey for EWU.

14-9 EWU lead under 16 minutes to go. EWU shooting lights out from the perimeter as the Hornets crash the boards to try and neutralize Jois.

22-13 EWU under 12 minutes to go. Great ball movement by EWU to find open 3 pointer, which they are hitting.

25-15 EWU lead under 7 to go. Hornets struggling from the floor. A few chances inside that the Hornets didn't take advantage of.

Good to see they are filming the game with a toaster.
 No kidding. What a garbage feed.

28-18 under 4 to go. Hornets need to start making the mid range and beyond shots or this could get out of hand. EWU has cooled off a bit from their hot start.

EWU having problems with their clock.

31-24 EWU at the half. Hornets couldn't take advantage of Jois and Blyasccdcjckdmk (sp?) on the nehcn with 2 PFs each. Poor shooting by the Hornets, and poor effort inside. They need to get those points in the paint when they are there.

We just shot 31% in the first half and we''re only down by 7. We will shoot better the second half. We need to go to the hoop and draw fouls. They don't have much of a bench tonite and we need to exploit that.

45-33 under 16 to go. Hornets got within 2 but EWU just went on a run to put it away. They are just killing it from 3 land tonight.

51-39 EWU with under 12 to go. EWU is hitting everything from downtown...everything.

56-42 EWU lead under 8 to go. Sloppy play by the Hornets, I don't see us coming back in this one.

58-50 EWU lead with over 5 to go. EWU struggling with the press.

It's over. I can't believe the shots they are hitting on us... The hosting question looks to be moot at this point. EWU is rolling people without their best player...

58-50 EWU lead with over 5 to go. EWU struggling with the press.

60-52 EWU under 4 to go. Strings has come in off the bench and provided a bit of a spark.

62-58 EWU with a minute to go. Holy sh!t!!!!!

Damn it Hornsby. 2 huge missed FT late. Hornets took too long to get a shot off.

64-61 EWU win. Great effort by the Hornets in the last 6 minutes. A bucket here or there was the difference, as was Hornsby's missed FTs.

Hats off to EWU, solid defense inside and absolutely deadly from behind the arc.

Must win game for the Hornets in Moscow on Saturday if they want to keep pace for 1st place.
