Early game today (1pm). Hopefully that has been relayed to the team so that they don't show up late to the party again. The promising season is slowing slipping away. This game is a must win, for sure.

39-26 EWU at the half. Sadly, I can remember early on when we thought free throws would be our undoing. Now its rebounding, defense and (the last couple games) offensive execution. Make a free throw and watch them go down the court and make a layup at the end of the half. Really?

That play at the end of the half was embarrassing.

Nice little run we're making now by grabbing some steals.

Parsons, wow, 10-10 from the field, and those aren't easy buckets he's getting.

A big problem that showed up this past weekend is the defense. While we scored 60 in the second half against EWU, we still gave up 47 points, and also we gave up 46 points in 15 minutes of overtime. We aren't going to outscore everyone, especially when we are down 13 heading into the second half.

Yep. Hard to keep teams from scoring on you when you like to play undersized and let guys get right to the basket. I've noticed that we tend to let players pick up huge numbers on us that they usually don't get. It's college hoops, so guys are going to play above their normal level from time to time, but we seem to let guys have career nights against us. Is Bliznyuk really a 45 & 10 guy? Well, he is against us. Same deal as the Idaho game the other night with that guy Sanders getting 40 when he averages 21.

I will say that it was nice to see us get up off of the mat after getting knocked down in the first half. Shows a lot given that we'd lost four of five and it'd probably be easy to mail it in after going into the locker room down double digits. Also, except for the first couple of minutes of the second half, the second half and OT was some of the more exciting basketball that I've seen a while. Our defensive pressure and quick transitions are fun to watch when we're clicking. The easy layups on the defensive end, not so much fun to watch. :-\

Well, we've now dropped five out of six with a handful of tough games left on the schedule. Geving teams are usually able to string together some wins down the stretch, but with Weber, the Montana schools on the road, and then the last two on the road as well, I think that heading into the BSC tourney above .500 in both conference and overall may be a stretch.
