Since Weber State drew 3 games in the last week before the tournament, they might as rest any players with a nagging injury or that need rest. Getting some experience for next year’s players wouldn’t hurt either.

I agree. Any of next years players and may 45 seconds for the walk on. If the three (WSU, Sac St, and SUU) all lose tonight we have the tie breaker and get the 7th seed which is another chance to play Idaho St or Idaho. Those we can beat and then play EWU again with some partially rested players. It might work out for us. I know it may be a long shot but rest tonight could help.

I hear what you are saying, but I wouldn’t bank on Randy hearing it. There has been a trend over the last three years. We regress the last 10 games of the season, when other teams are playing at the highest level. And I’m sure that has a lot to do with the 6 and maybe 7 guys he plays a game. Harding looked Gassed on Thursday night, and who can blame him. He has to carry the team! My guess is it will be the same old same old! I give us a 5% chance of winning at EWU. That won’t stop coach from doing what he does! You watch, we will be down by 20 plus and he will still have the same 5 or 6 guys in the game until the last 45 seconds. We could be up by 30 and he would do the same thing.
With all taken into account, I agree! We should rest all of our starters to prepare for a game on Wednesday. Even if we end up playing Sac State or SUU instead of ISU rest would be the most valuable thing at this point.

You were right. Rahe played Harding 37 minutes and John 40. I’m sure he wants to have the tired excuse to rely on. Most telling stat of the game: assists EWU 24 Weber State 13...not a good team concept there. Also, we have no sharp shooters at 3 point line.

Hopefully a miracle four-game win streak can occur in Boise.

This may sound crazy!! But if we can win on Wednesday in Boise, I think we have a legit shot of beating EWU. Both games this year we were in the game. As usual our 3 point shooting was atrocious and it wasn’t cause the defense was good. We had open 3’s all night. Of all the teams in the big sky, I think we have favorable matchups against 2 teams and one of them happens to be EWU. Why? They lack the athleticism to contain our guards, which is why we get so many open shots. If we do get to play them Thursday and we hit 3 or 4 more open threes we will have them on the ropes! And to be honest I would love it cause I hate EWU. Aiken showboating right in Kozaks face at the end of the game should give us a little more fire. The second team is SUU! They struggle to hit outside shots mightily and when we play two bigs they struggle to get to the rim and make buckets. Precisely why we beat them both times this year.
I would love to see Weber get to Friday at least and send Harding off on somewhat of a good note. All that being said, it doesn’t change my feelings toward the coaching and philosophy of the coaching staff. We need a change!

I love the enthusiasm and optimism! It’s desperately missing in the b-ball program. Unfortunately, the Wildcats drew Sac State. I think it’s a one and done. The Wildcats needed a dominant game from Harding to beat the Hornets at home and lost by a decent margin on the road. Hoping for the best. Four wins in four days and they can eliminate a bad season.

 that would mean we would have 12 d1 wins heading to the big dance. i would also bet on "the big four" all dancing in that case. :-D

Yep! Unfortunately SUU squashed the plan by winning in overtime at Montana last night. I couldn’t believe it. Now winning Wednesday is a big question mark! I figured if we got Idaho State there was no way we could lay another egg against them, but that’s enthusiastic as well. Harding needs to hit the sack, chill in the cryotherapy machine and come out in Boise and put on a show. If we lose in the Wednesday game, oh how bad have things become.
Like you said; they smoked us in Sacramento, and we had to have a huge night at home to be them. Let’s hope Harding can do it one note time against them.

Win or lose in Boise, it's still a really bad season. No excuses can put lipstick on that pig. It would serve the BSC right if we did win the tournament and become the rep for the big dance.

5 seconds after our last game this season, the real work will begin to try and put out this dumpster fire. Recruiting, player development, and a better plan for next year can get it done, but it surely won't be easy. I'm sure that every aspect of our program will be examined under a microscope. :coffee:

When the Big Sky let everyone into the tourney, I thought it would serve them right for a lower half standing team to win. Let’s make it this year!

You are right. A lot of work lies ahead.

Haha do we really think that Rahe can correct this with the remaining time on the contract? What's the point for Rahe to care? I still remmeber the past several BSC games we were eliminated in, they were beat downs. I don't see anything changing on Wedensday. We will get curb stomped for the 20th time this year. At the end of last season, Rahe said, "I know what's wrong, and we will get it fixed." And we got significantly worse. Truthfully, I think he has lost control of the locker room, prayers, boosters, staff, and fans. RANDY!!!! PLEASE LEAVE!!!!!!!

"Examined under a microscope"?

Who's the examiner? If it's stubborn, in-denial Coach Randy Rahe, going with recent history, there's zero confidence in any significant improvement here!! Dave Fox, KUTV's sports commentator & a Rahe admirer, said on a recent broadcast of WSU vs SUU that this Wildcat BB season was a "hiccup"... I'd say it was more of a "HURL"!

Maybe a win or two in this week's BSC tourney would be a surprising aberration, though the trend has already been disappointingly set. :twocents:
