EWU's Taiwan Jones

TJ at MSU:

"Mitchell was 24 for 49 for 272 yards passing with an interception. Eagles running back Taiwan Jones, the Big Sky's top rusher, had 12 attempts for 65 yards in the first half, but carried only once for minus-2 yards in the second half."

Why did he only have 1 second half carry?

Taiwan Jones = Josh Booker; only Booker doesn't get as many touches. :D
Booker is not even close to being as good as Taiwan Jones YET, Booker is crazy talented but he is not on the same level as Jones. Hopefully Booker will continue to work hard so that he can become better than Taiwan Jones.

Booker is averaging about 7 yards a carry, Jones a little more. Booker is only a freshman though. I think Jones is a little more athletic, but Booker is a little more instinctual. Since Bolen is leaving on a mission next year I think Booker should be getting more touches, he's our guy next year. Then we'll have Bolen back in a couple of years.

knocked out of the game with a bruised hip in 3rd Q.

This goes without saying, but I will say it anyway. This will have a huge impact on the game Saturday. Also of note for the game against the Griz, UM QB Selle is out with a shoulder injury or broken arm.

Word on EWU site says he may have a sports-induced hernia. I never like when somebody gets injured and is unable to play against us. I would rather beat a team at full strength. Well if he doesn't play I believe E. Wash won't be able to do much against our D.

I hope there is'nt the belief that if Taiwan doesnt play it's a sure win. Weber's not good enough now to ensure it. I'll bet $$$$$ that he plays and he plays good.

I agree, Jones will play and our defense better prepare themselves for arguably the best RB in the FCS West.

Jones finished with a career-high 221 yards rushing against the Grizzlies, and 305 total all-purpose yards. But his production took a nosedive a week later when, from the opening kickoff, he took a beating from a physical MSU squad. After just one touch in the second half on a rushing attempt midway through the third quarter, he finally departed the game for good with an abdominal contusion. He's listed as probable for the Weber State game.

"He was just unable to go, and he'll play with just about anything," said Baldwin. "But that's part of football and we have to find a way as a team and as an offense to just execute better. We were executing from the 20 to 20 but weren't able to get points. That's dishearteni

I was at the game, that kid was hurting in his guts bad, I doubt he will be a go this week, if he does he will not be 100%. I consider WSU one of the more physical teams that we play, TJ has just come off of 2 very physical games, I dont think he can handle a third, If he does play I doubt he will make it through the first quarter, for his sake I hope he does not play.

Either way, good luck wildcats

Like I said, I hope he plays because I would rather lose than have Eastern Washington whine about not having TJ and that's why they lost. Not that we're going to lose either way ;) .

Thanks cats2506. I have to agree with you. I hope for his sake that Jones does not play. I would hate to see him have a season or career ending injury. He is very talented and has the chance to go on to bigger and better things.
