Exhibition #1

Thats it?? Seriously Tal?? I was totally expecting a write up about the team and what to expect tonight.

Anyway, I guess USU played Laval a couple of days ago...how did the Ags fair against the French Canadians? What we should be looking for tonight is how well the newbs are getting a grip on the Wizards offense. Also, I want to see what the reserves can do. We know the starters, and returning lettermans can do.

Weber State's men's basketball team plays its first exhibition game Monday against Laval University at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.

Universite Laval is located in Quebec, the French-speaking part of Canada, and will provides an interesting -- but ultimately meaningless -- early season comparison between three in-state schools.

BYU hammered Laval 101-55 in Provo on Friday and Utah State howled past the Rouge-et-Or (Red and Gold) 93-51 on Saturday in Logan.

NOt a bad start for the Cats. There are a few issues that need to be worked out, but all in all, the Cats played a solid game.

A couple of thoughts:

1. Where was Noble?
2. Fulton needs to be quicker getting the shot off. Three or four times he tried to dribble in the paint and he ended up losing the ball.
3. Richardson running the point. He has great vision. He made a couple of passes that were pretty impressive.
4. Tresnak...He has great hands, balance, and vision. I was definitely pleased by his performance last night.
5. Bull looks like he will have some issue to start the season as he settles into his new position. No matter, you've got to love how hard he works. He never gives up. Bull is a beast.
6. Not having Bamforth and Porter seemed to affect the team a bit. You could tell it was killing Bamforth to sit on the bench.
7. Hughey played an excellent game. Yes, he had 22pts, but more impressive were his 10 rebounds.
8. Hajek played...can he play in Exhibition games if he is redshirting? Liked his left handed hook shoot.

I heard from a source that Noble quit. I assume that Richardson probably will not be redshirting. That means less PT for Noble. It's sad, but maybe he doesn't want to ride the bench again this season.

There is no issue Redshirting and playing in exhibition games. Hajek will Redshirt, Richardson is another story with Noble
now gone, I guess, and Bamforth shoulder?? I could see and like Richardson playing this season he's ready, baby.
