Exhibition Game Tonight - Adams State

We get our first look at this years team. There are a lot of new faces and a solid group of returners.

Being an exhibition game, we really don't expect stiff competition. However, AS is a D11 team that does have some talent on their side. I'm sure that we will be bigger and more athletic than them, but these D11 teams often have some solid outside shooters and they are almost always scrappy and competitive. I expect that tonight.

I've heard a lot about all of our new players, but now I get to see them in person against another team. I'm always excited to get a new season started. Should be fun.

Free to everyone tonight, so there are no excuses for not coming. Be there.

Looks like Duft has already got his rotation....7 guys with 18 or more minutes....2 guys with 7 and 3 minutes respectively....I guess this is a hint at what's to come...

I don't think you can tell much by that game. One starter out with a sprained ankle and another major contributor out with health issues until December. One other expected starter did not start in that game, for unknown reasons. Two freshmen did not play. Not sure if it is due to injury or maybe they are considering a RS year. At any rate, we don't really know much from one game and certainly not from a game like that one.

I don't have any problem with a 9 man rotation, with a 10th or 11th guy getting in every once in a while. That is the way most winning teams play. You play to your strengths and bring along some of the weaker peices as you can. Almost everything, these days, is predicated on statistical analysis. By the end of the season everyone is down to an 8 man rotation unless they experience real foul trouble or injuries.
