Dame was awesome and really helped with where Weber is today from a recruiting perspective, but it's time to let him go and start talking about the future Wildcats!

It's sucks to pick up the paper and still have to live in his shadow and unfair to today's roster. Weber State is an up and coming program. It's important that we build on the past, but not live in it. Would've been happier to see Berry or Tres's picture. That's who will need to perform to win on Friday night.

No disrespect to Dame, but he will not be in Weber State box score this season. We need our upperclassmen to step up their game and become the face of this program. Disappointed that the Trib has to go back to 2011 to represent Weber!

No Offense, but I think your crazy to think we need to stop talking about him. He is the reason Weber State are recruiting some of the kids they are recruiting. Obviously it should be more about the team right now, but the team we have right now was generated off the success that Lillard had at Weber State and continues to have in the pros.

I get that.

But if you're a player....a competitive athlete, you can only compete against the guys on the floor. They can't compete against a guys who is no longer there.

This is the Tribes piece on the 2013/14 season and the picture for Weber State features Dame? I don't see every piece for BYU featuring Jimmer! Dame is awesome for Weber State and his impact on the program is only beginning, but it's a slap to players coming thru the program to be ignored and Dame being featured. This team won 30 games last year and the featured player for the upcoming season by the Tribe is Lilliard? He has absolutely nothing to do with the preview for the season.

It's about building a program! 8-)

I like Weber talking about Weber and being excited for our team, and I think it is great they are sooo jazzed by Damian (too bad they never took much notice when he was playing 35min north of their offices for four years) now. I think he is great for our program and I am extremely proud of what he has accomplished and continues to achieve. Dame is a great face for our program. He is on his way to being an All-Star this season!! As for the article on our team for this season...I agree, I feel that the Trib should focus on our current team. We have a really talented team and some excellent players on it. Last season the Cats won 30 games and were 6pts away from winning the Sky, and a late three away from winning a major post-season tournament. And we are hoping to build on what we achieved last year with this team. YES, Dame is a major force behind our continued success though. He is the biggest reason why we continue to get major players to commit to Weber. But Berry, Tres, and Richardson are our team leaders now. Go CATS!!

Can't wait to see Dame be in an All-Star game!!

I liked the write up. My favorite is that they included pictures of guys that aren't on the team this year in the gallery. So I picked my favorite and added some speech blurbs

But you would provide warmth in the winter and shade in the summer....Big and Beautiful!!

Maybe CaCat can send AJ some cute smilies to make him feel better. Never mind, CatCat only knows how to post useless stats and tell stories of how he was the only fan in the student section in 2006.

I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but did you miss at least two straight years of The Jimmer being a part of almost any article written, even if it had nothing to do with bball? If it did have to do with bball but not BYU or The Jimmer, there were non-stop comparisons to him. The most infuriating were articles dealing with and headlined by Lillard. I don't think you shy away from Dame at all, especially while his star shines brightly. Yes, the current team should have recognition but until the current players do some noteworthy things, Dame has much greater ability to sustain Weber's name recognition and recruiting power.
