Extra I-A game?

Nevada announced today that they will play a BSC team next year, who they didn't say, what openings do we have? Is the 13th of october it?

Nevada has a game on SUNDAY, October 14, at Boise State.

Their schedule doesn't fit with Portland State's.

Their non-conference schedule is not announced. Five September weekends and November 10 to fill four games (not 5, as Hawai'i travels to Reno this year) means PSU is out of luck.

Oh well

I know BSU plays on 2 sundays, a couple saturdays, and some fridays, and has a nightmare of a road schedule

somebody must not like the broncos

People were HOWLING hopping mad out here when that schedule came out.

Funny thing- that someone who "doesn't like the Broncos" is ESPN. The contract ESPN has with the WAC gives ESPN the right to insist on a schedule that benefits them first. The Sundays, Fridays, and one of the Thursdays will all be ESPN games. I believe Boise is scheduled to be on 5 times in 2007.

ESPN wanted Boise in Fresno on a Friday, and especially wanted Boise in Honolulu as the last game of the season on the Friday after the Idaho rivalry. They're so nice, no?

Yeah I saw the posts at BroncoCountry, not to happy, wonder how it will affect them

Hawaii is their only for sure loss and you maybe can add Washington, Southern Miss may be a challenge to, that schedule will get more exhausting for the players as the season goes on.

I feel for the fans though, not everyone has thursday nights off.

BTW Pounder, does it get annoying living in Boise? I know the city buses have HUGE Bronco logo's on them, and there is blue and orange everwhere you go, that would rive me nuts

For sure loss, I wouldn't starting counting your ducks yet!! Boise State is know for there ability to win and it has been proven for several years now. The only difficult games that I see BSU's playing this season is Washington, Hawaii, and Fresno. But if Fresno plays like they did last year it wont be that tough of a game. Sorry Wyokie but u had your chance to win last year when BSU played you guys at home. Beating BSU at home has become one of they most difficult things to do in NCAA Football! There home field advantage is something to admire at any level of competition and wish we had at PGE park.

I'm a huge Bronco fan and when I'm back in Boise love to see all the blue and orange everywhere! Its shows loyalty to the program just like every other city in the nation. It would awesome to see that much support of the Vikings but we here in Ptown have to compete with OSU, and UO along with all the transplant fans, hopefully after JG and Mouse Davis encompany get going with the Viking machine we will see a increase in support of the Home-town team.

Nothing against HI and WY but I will be routing for the Bronc's when its game time. Good luck to your teams.

I find it annoying seeing all the Orange and Black, also Yellow and Green flying around in portland on one of the days that the Vikings have a home game. That to me is annoying!

You have to realize how many places in the P-town area sell PSU apparel compared to the places that sell OSU and UofO gear. Quick question: They don't sell ANY Oregon or Oregon State stuff whatsoever at the PSU Bookstore do they? I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Simple fact: PSU has not been a hot commodity since Mouse was last here but I have a dream ... that one day we will overcome this tremendous barrier in the Portland scene of the absence of a sports city. My first point of action would be to remove the Blazers and implant at least an arena football team here if not NFL expansion.

What annoys me is that you are a moderator for PSU and admit to being a huge BSU fan. While that's alright, I guess, I wonder who you would root for if the Vikings played the Broncs on the last game of the season with both being undefeated and Boise possibly going to their first NC game.

Granted that will probably never happen so you won't have to give an answer. As for me, I can kind of relate as I used to be a huge Ducks fans but now am solely a PSU supporter while also supporting my current school (CCC).

I thnk the Wyoming game is a strech, UW hasn't showed they can beat prime schools on the road since the 90's, BSU should hand it to them.

The other UW(Washington) will be intetresting cause both schools are breaking in new QB's, The game should go down to the wire

Hawaii should have beaten BSU the last time Boise was in honolulu, Special teams blew it for UH, I don't think BSU will have it to stop Brennan and Co., with the addition of 5-Star RB Leon Jackson who might very well be the best RB in the WAC right now, UH is going to be very strong, UH is going to be in their prime, they are setting the game up an hour later then usual, honestly, all things are set up for a Boise blowout, but hey this game is a year away.

BSU, do it without Zabransky and I'll believe it, he bailed you guys out SOOOO many times, lets see if Tayloe tharp can do the same

Isaiah Steibeck will be back at QB for UW. They won't be breaking in anyone new. BSU always reloads at QB without a drop off.

However, Hawaii is losing some coaches.....

Glanville didn't do anything at UH but call plays, ask any UH fan and they will tell you that, Mouse just sat in the booth, those two found way better postions here

As for the QB position at BSU, there is nobody on Bosie's campus as good as Zabransky, if tharp starts there will be a drop off, if aomeone else they should be fine

According to what I've read and heard, Glanville did a heckuva lot more than just call plays. He installed their new 3-4 defense system and did a ton of preparation and ran the practices. That's why Hawaii fans, staff and players were so sad to see him go.

True, but JG did no recruiting at all, hopefully he doesn't do that here

Hawaii is about to hire a guy named McMackin as their DC, he coached there before and did better then JG did statistically, I see no drop off especially after their recent Top 50 recruiting class

anyway back to subject looks like nevada will be playing the Griz on the 15th of september

Will be the old Big Sky battle in Reno once again. I hope they smash the Griz!

Nevada will be rebuilding but yeah same here, I hope the Griz get this one shoved in their face, though being realistic I think the Griz will stay within 20

IMO now way will Tharpe start, the guy was given the chance several time back in the 05 season and unless he has developed into a different person I don't think he will produce what the coaches are expecting. BSU recruited some really good HS quarter back the last couple of yrs and will be able to put someone into Zabransky's place who will as good or better. Nick Lomax and company is one of them and I'm pretty sure that he will be working with his old man this summer to get ready to step into the start QB's place.

As to Bozz Hoggzs question:
Yes I may be a Bronco's fan but since my decision to attend PSU my loyalty is with the Viks when they play. Let me put it this way, when we played BSU in 05 i took a bunch of my Fraternity Brothers to Boise and showed them how amazing the pregame atmospher is and we wore our Vikings Horde shirts and painted up as well. Yes all my family and friends gave me a bunch of crap before the game but after half time when we were beating them they weren't saying much!!

I think it will be an interest season in the WAC next yr the teams are starting to get stronger and more respect nationally. Instead of only a couple of teams dominating the division such as BSU, Fresno, and Nevada, its gonna be BSU, UH, Fresno, Nevada, and San Jose State. so 5/9 teams have a chance to be pretty decent next year. If Utah State and NMSU could turn there programs around the WAC could become a pretty tough division. I think UH will give BSU a run for the WAC championship next year.
