Favorite stat after two weeks

My favorite stat after two games so far this year is....

Our freshman Field goal and PAT kicker Trey Tuttle is 4-4 on field goal attempts and 12-12 PAT's

Field goals made from 26, 30, 37 and 45 yards respectfully.

After last year and our recent history at this position I can say I am at this moment pleasantly surprised and impressed. Hope it continues.

My favorite is true freshman, Rashid Shaheed, averaging nearly 30 yards per reception/run. leading receiver and one of the leading rushers. I think we got ourselves a keeper and the PAC12 screwed up.

...And if he decides to go out for track in the spring, he will be one of our better sprinters. We absolutely stole this kid out of San Diego.

Rashid has been a huge surprise and a much welcomed one. I agree, Weber got a steal.

:agree: -- however, it certainly doesn't discount the importance of a solid kicking game and excitement for the great start of Tuttle.

I know last year one more make could have made the difference in the opener vs SDakota, as it would have the year before in windy Cheney-- maybe even could have made difference making the playoffs with that one. I'm excited for both Shaheed and Tuttle-- hell, I'm way excited about what Cantwell has been able to do, especially against a pac-x D

Offense is all about confidence. You play just a little bit harder when you are excited to see the outcome of a successful play. These first two games have me thinking that this team will continue to improve. Our D is solid and I think that will continue to improve as well. Where we finish, who knows, but it is going to be a good season for our Cats.

How bout that O-line? Been better than expected. :thumb:

It was a major concern August 1, but a concern that has quickly been put to rest. Our OL is young, yet looked veteran against Cal. Something that should scare teams a bit is the fact that our OL has 3 starting freshman. That group will only get better and better each time out. Sky View High Tyler Downs is the real deal. When Jay signed him three years ago (?) he said he would be a monster for us. He and Whitworth really showed their worth last week.

Oh, the back ups have two more freshman in Carter Nielsen and Robert Geoffrion that are both right there. Mo Cannon, Xavier Stilson, and Junior Latu are only Sophomores and part of the depth chart. Our OL is really young, but really talented. Brent Myers really has done some great work.
