FCS Beating the Big Boys 2011

There have been a couple of threads concerning this; but now we have more information to go on. I am predicting at least 10 wins by FCS teams over FBS teams this year. The FCS is just getting better and there are some terrible FBS teams this year. Two teams; Weber State and Central Arkansas could get two wins each against the FBS and I don't think that has ever happened. My list is compiled by looking at the strength and weaknesses of the respective divisions.

FCS - Most Likely Wins: (in order of probability)
1. Stony Brook vs. Buffalo - Sep. 10
2. Southern Utah vs. UNLV - Sep. 24
3. Central Arkansas vs. Arkansas State - Sep. 3
4. Delaware vs. Navy - Sep. 3
5. Northern Iowa vs. Iowa State - Sep. 3
6. McNeese State vs. Kansas - Sep. 3
7. Weber State vs. Utah State - Sep. 10
8. South Carolina State vs. Central Michigan - Sep. 3
9. Central Arkansas vs. Louisiana Tech - Sep. 10
10. Weber State vs. Wyoming - Sep. 3

FCS - Probable Wins:
11. Sam Houston State vs. New Mexico - Sep.24
12. New Hampshire vs. Toledo - Sep. 1
13. Villanova vs. Temple - Sep. 1
14. William and Mary vs. Virginia - Sep. 6
15. South Carolina State vs. Indiana - Sep. 17

FCS - Possible Wins:
16. Murray State vs. Louisville - Sep. 1
17. Gardner-Webb vs. Ohio - Sep. 10
18. Elon vs. Vanderbilt - Sep. 3
19. Cal Poly vs. Northern Illinois - Sep. 24
20. Richmond vs. Duke - Sep. 3

FCS - Upsets:
21. Montana State vs. Utah - Sep. 1
22. Eastern Washington vs. Washington - Sep. 3
23. UC Davis vs. Hawaii - Sep. 24

I think Weber would have a better shot at beating Wyoming than Utah State.

And even though I would love an upset.....or 2, just as long as Weber keeps the games competitive I'll be happy

This may have been posted already....but I ran across this simulator.....you can use this for a very rough swag to see what the probabilities are with some of these games:

A few of the results....

Stony Brook(2011) wins 68 of 100 matchups against Buffalo(2011)
Southern Utah(2011) wins 70 of 100 matchups against UNLV(2011) :o
Arkansas State(2011) wins 86 of 100 matchups against Central Arkansas(2011)
Navy(2011) wins 82 of 100 matchups against Delaware(2011)

Washington(2011) wins 80 of 100 matchups against Eastern Wash.(2011)

Wyoming(2011) wins 98 of 100 matchups against Weber St.(2011)

hmmm its got EWU beating ISU, UNC, and PSU 100/100 times so not sure how accurate or objective this simulator is but I go enjoy the results! ;)

It's football. Thank god the games are played on the field. I wonder what the simulators said about ESU vs. Montana last year or ESU vs. Delaware in the playoffs. The simulators are almost always going to favor the FBS. I promise you there will be some upsets this year and I still stand by my 10 game FCS wins.

Yes, "played on the field" being the key words. These simulators are something to pass the time but are based on historical stats, not taking into account the upcoming talent and improvement players make from year to year.
I really don't think the Huskies will beat the Eagles by 19 points. I might see 2 TD's at most but an upset is a definite possibility. Remember they are breaking in a new QB and our defense is experienced.
Go Eagles

clawman, and All,
Don't forget "TONIGHT" @ 7 P.M., @ Roos Field, "East West High School All Stars Game". Some of our Recruits will be playing in same, which includes the young man from CV. There are many others of which I cannot recall their names. We will be there. :thumb: All of you and your Loved Ones have a Very HAPPY 4th of July, and be SAFE. Vic Wallace

Is the game on Friday? Historically it's been on Saturday night but I suppose they could have changed it due to the holiday.

Don't think the coaches can be there if there are any of our recruits playing but at least we have all the signs up!
