FCS Playoff Round 3 Prediction Thread

Gets a lot more difficult this week. Won't be including Birds vs. Eags on this thread.

8) Chattanooga (10-3) 38 at (1) New Hampshire (11-1) 27 (Moc's D is tough and flys around, the offense is effective. Know this is only their second playoff game since forever and it's on the road. Should they play their game, Moc's have more than enough firepower to win this game)

Saturday, December 13th
-----------------------

(7) Coastal Carolina (12-1) 24 at (2) North Dakota State (12-1) 27, 12 p.m. (Feel like this could be an upset alert game if it was on a neutral field, gonna go head over heart on this one as the Chant's don't have the offense they had last year. D is capable of causing turnovers. Tossup)

Sam Houston State (10-4) 31 at (6) Villanova (11-1) 17, 1 p.m. (CAA isn't good. Difficult to pick SHSU only because their QB play is erratic. D gets it done for SHSU in this one. Keeler has truly righted the ship since early season)

I want what you said to happen, but I realistically expect the home teams to all win.

That said, I've been saying regularly on AGS that SHSU, EWU, and NDSU are the 3 hottest teams right now. Hoping for EWU > SHSU in the natty.

Wouldn't that be a hoot! :-)

I actually don't think NDSU is that "hot" right now. They can be had...I just hope it's the Eags that do it.

Prediction: This is a game between two evenly matched teams. New Hampshire has the better offense; Chattanooga has the stronger defense. New Hampshire, 28-27.

Prediction: The Chanticleers are an impressive 3-3 all-time against Top 5 opponents, but they are playing NDSU in the wrong week. North Dakota State, 31-17. (almost makes me spend money on the Chant's)

Prediction: Asserting control through the offensive line is huge here. Villanova wears Sam Houston down. Villanova, 28-21.

Prediction: Illinois State's MO is playing ahead. The Redbirds need that against Eastern Washington and Adams may not let them do that. Eastern Washington, 38-35.

I suspect the national championship winner comes from the Coastal / NDSU game or the Eastern / Illinois State game.

I'd like to see Chattanooga win, only because I've always wanted to play them and I've spent a good bit of time in the Dirty 'Nooga.

If I had to bet, I'd take the 4 home teams, but these are as close to toss-ups as I can ever recall in the final 8. Most years, there's at least two games where the winner is essentially a foregone conclusion.

Big storm going through the northeast right now. As I recall New Hampshire is a high school level stadium not a good as our high school stadium  . Do they have artificial turf or grass? Which team would a sloppy field effect the most?

Cowell Stadium is an 6,500-seat open-air multi-purpose stadium in Durham, New Hampshire on the campus of the University of New Hampshire. It is home to the University of New Hampshire Wildcats football and track and field teams. The stadium, which runs west-northwest, consists of a FieldTurf playing surface surrounded by a 400-metre track. On either side of the track are aluminum stands (the larger home stands being on northeast side), and temporary seating is placed in endzones during football games. The stadium lies just southwest of the Field House, which houses Lundholm Gym as well as Swazey Pool and the Jerry Azumah Performance Center: the main grandstand is attached to the field house.
