NDSU up 14-10 heading into the 4th, and the Cats were up 17-14 early in the 4th; then NDSU scores 28 in a row in Billings for the win. 4 turnovers for the Cats, who gave up 376 rushing yards!

Eastern Washington 37
SE Missouri 17

No details on this one. 17-17 at the half, and EWU shuts them down in the 2nd half.

Kind of a mixed bag for the BigSky resume. I was hoping the Cats and Eagles would roll into the 2nd round, and give the BigSky and western teams a bit of respect. The Montana State loss hurts.

Did anyone here see any of the games?

I saw the tail end of the SEMO-EWU game on a net feed from NCAA. The commentators were incompetent. (They completely ignored the fact that EWU's PAT for what would have been their 38th point was wide and was called wide, attributing the point to them anyway. The point showed up on the graphic during the throw to commercial, but was retracted on the return from commercial.)

We had a ton of blowouts today.

#1 Appalachian State (10-2) def. #16 Western Illinois (8-5) 42-14
#9 Villanova (8-4) def. #8 Stephen F. Austin (9-3) 54-24
#5 Eastern Washington (10-2) def. #12 SE Missouri State (9-3) 37-17
#13 North Dakota State (8-4) def. #4 Montana State (9-3) 42-17
#3 Delaware (10-2) def. #18 Lehigh (10-3) 42-20
#11 New Hampshire (8-4) def. #6 Bethune-Cookman (10-2) 45-20
#10 Wofford (10-2) def. #7 Jacksonville State (9-3) 17-14
#15 Georgia Southern (9-4) def. #2 William and Mary (8-4) 31-15

I watched the MSU-NDSU game. It was a defensive struggle in the first half and a really good game as it was 7-7 at the half. Then NDSU came out of the locker room and embarrassed MSU. They are a physical team on both sides of the ball. Their OL and running game just pounded away and eventually MSU just quit. The game wasn't in hand until the 4th quarter but that was mainly because of some stupid play calling by NDSU. They were dominating with the running game but for some stupid reason they would call a naked bootleg or a pass on 3rd and short that killed some drives. Also their starting QB got murdered on a bootleg so most of the points were put up with their backup QB (even though all he really did was hand the ball to McNorton).

MSU was able to hang with NDSU for a bit in the 3rd quarter but they eventually had turnovers that cost them as well as some injuries. NDSU made the adjustments that stopped the MSU offense and their defense eventually wore down and rolled over.

I only saw very little of the EWU-SEMO game as I went to attend a dark ale festival. It was neck and neck early on but it looks like EWU made the right adjustments at halftime and steam rolled SEMO in the second half.

I watched the 4th quarter of the EWU game and I think SEMO turned the ball over 4 times in the 4th. SEMO's defense looked gassed, EWU's freshman backup RB was running over them.

EWU knocked off NDSU at home in OT: 38-31. This was a wild one as EWU turned the ball over 5 times and still won.
Delaware knocked off New Hampshire at home: 16-3.
Villanova beat App State in Boone: 42-24. I saw much of this game and Nova is scary good right now, they completely destroyed the #1 seed.
Ga Southern knocked off Wofford on the road: 23-20. Interesting match-up as both teams run the triple option.

Nova will play at EWU this Friday.
Ga Southern will play at Delaware this Saturday.

Im still not convinced that was an NDSU fumble at the end of the game. Clearly looked like he was down to me (on his elbow and back) before the ball squirted out.

Having NDSU win at MSU and EWU back to back, would not have been a good thing for the BigSky's reputation. Especially back to back games where the Bison come from behind on the road for wins.

Except I hate Eastern. Mostly stems from our rivalry in volleyball, but I just despise them in everything!

you don't think the imposing EWU home crowd will turn the trick? from the yahoo recap of their last game:

"An official review didn’t overturn the call and fans stormed the field."

from the box score:

Att: 4,060

not much of a storm! reminds me of the local bay area newscast after the first sprinkle of winter. 'Tune in at 11:00 for StormWatcher 2010!'

4060 at a 2nd round playoff game?

Yes, unbelievable that only 4000 showed for this game and they had like 3600 for the game the week prior. Too bad they dont draw, they are a quality team.
