Wildcat Football finishes season with highest ever national ranking.

Three teams on that list are on our schedule next year, along with the UUs down south. Next years schedule looks really good. If we can win some of those games, it will go a long ways to hosting games in the playoffs.

To me, Weber is the 3rd best team in the country. Neither SDSU or Sam Houston did much in the Semi to convince me they are better. Regardless, really awesome seeing the Cats that high in the final poll. Congrats to Coach Hill and his kids. They deserve all the accolades they are getting!

Ya, it wasn't Weber State who was thoroughly mud-stomped by either JMU or NDS like the 32 and 45 point drubbings put on SDS and SHS in the semi-finals. In comparison, you'd think Weber might get a little love for the "shoulda won" over the runner-up. Anything to minimize BSC recognition is probably preferred by the majority of the voters, or they aren't aware of anything outside their bubble.

:+1: And to me it's no contest

These voters are lazy and uninformed. They just automatically put the four teams in the semis as 1-4 without even looking at scores. Most probably never even watched the JMU/Weber game, or the semifinal games. Heck, someone even gave NC A&T a first place vote. Like I've said before, these polls are crap. At the end of the season, NDSU, JMU, and Weber were the three best teams, with very little separating the three. Anyone who paid attention knows SDSU and Sam Houston weren't better than Weber at the end of the season. The good thing is, the FCS has playoffs, where the true champion is determined on the field, not by some stupid, subjective polls.

Now the age old question. What will marketing do with the 5th ranked team in the nation? The town should be painted all kinds of purple, but will it?

You're right. They need to be planning a good marketting strategy now, to be implimented in late spring and summer. I'm sure that there will be many new fans jumping on the bandwagon. I don't even care if they are fair weather fans. Let's get them in, get them going, treat them right, and many of them will become long term fans and contribute to the growth of football at WSU. We have been a sleeping giant for far too long. Maybe this is the wakeup call we have been waiting for.

Football at WSU is LIT.
