We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. In typical WSU fashion, Joe Strand has replied to almost every email about Joker and the Thief in the same way. Basically by telling WSU fans to piss up a rope and go pound sand. I am so f-ing sick of that attitude up at WSU. Why in the hell should WSU listen to their fans? Because without fans Joe, you are un-employed.

Strand's the same guy who used to play that BYU crowd favorite Cotton-Eyed Joe and dance around like a damn fool. Could not stand that! Despised it! My hate for that song (and Strand's stupid little dance) ranks right up there with my hate for that YMCA song? Every time I hear that song I want to jump off the nearest cliff.
The problem with Strand is that he's been a part of the incompetent athletics staff up at Weber for way too long. They don't seem to give a damn about fans. Someone needs to clean house! And by the way, did the University even conduct a search for a new AD? I don't know this new guy, but I know he was already on the staff. Not a good idea if you ask me. How is anything ever going to improve unless you get some new people, with some fresh ideas?

All press is good press! Thank you for taking Joe from being a minor local celebrity to a major local celebrity! Change We Need! Change We Can Believe In! And by that I mean a song change, not a new guy to push the play button. Time for a new song! Time for some new fans that care more about their team and care about more important things in life than a few seconds of music. Buy the Wolfmother CD if you want to hear it more. Or, $.99 on iTunes can get you that one song. What a bargain! :mrgreen:
Did he really tell Weber State fans to piss up a rope? I suggest you send all emails received from Joe to his Boss and then to his Boss's boss. I think Joe can be pretty thick headed at times, but at other times he does some pretty cool things. He has helped push the cheerleaders out of the student section a few times, and I hope he continues to do that, since the Cheerleaders sitting on the first three rows is a complete slap in the face to the Weber State students who actually love their school and are their to support its athletic teams. Whenever the cheerleaders sit there they do exactly that, SIT. I for one am thankful that Joe took the time to get them off the first three rows, but this whole whoha over the song? That really seems pretty stupid...honestly, I'd listen to the fans and try to do my best to keep their song being played at the games. At very least, after half-time.

The only thing sorrier than you dipshits whining about music at a sporting event is you whining about music at a crappy school like Weber State. to be honest, I didn't realize that community colleges had sports arenas.

Thanks again for the post. I actually did buy the song. For me at least, after the first minute or so, its a pretty crappy song for my car. I guess that is why they only use it for tip-off.
