One flaw Coach Hill has is he’s too nice a guy to fire any coach on his staff.

The fans need to ratchet up the pressure if the football team is going to have a chance at getting a decent offense that can carry it’s weight. They could have had a chance at a championship last year and won this game with a decent scheme.

Sad thing is most fans knew it would be a huge mistake not to fire him, and yet nothing happened.

It’s sad when you think it’s a success if the offense at least doesn’t make mistakes. I miss the Arslanian offense.

Defense is awesome again...and special teams got hosed on a phantom penalty.

I agree that you don’t want to overreact, but the whole season last year was a mess with the offense against decent teams.

There was a lot of talk about how the offense was going to be solid. After week 1...looks like more of the same. CP, Nevada, UNI should be stout competition and a good sample. Here’s hoping last week is a fluke and it’s much better...have low confidence in it though. Hope I am wrong.

Way too early to start that kind of talk. Let's see what happens over the next 5 weeks and then you can chime back in on the subject. It would have been great to have seen a little more O in that game, but that was a very good D we were looking at. The OC wasn't controlling or O line all game long.

Chex, I totally feel your frustration. Schramm's offense has been a study in patience for sure. However, he was going up against a Rocky Long defense that returns a lot of experience. Now, if he can't get the offense going against a Cal Poly team that gave up almost 600 yards of offense last week, we definitely have a problem.

This.

I expected our offense to struggle against SDSU. Though I thought we would do slightly better than we did. But Cal Poly is no defensive juggernaut. We should be able to move the ball and show significant progress over last year or we need to make some changes.

I think his job is secure for now after the great performance today! I would have liked to see more shots down the field against SDSU. If they are going to load the box, just keep chucking it deep. We only needed to get lucky once and score one touchdown. I was also wanting to see a trick play when it seemed like nothing was working.

Against those really fast defenses, we are not going to get anything going on the outside. My game plan would be to pound it up the middle with a big running back like Kris Jackson. Then bust out the play action deep ball.

This offense needs new leadership and direction. We have had two terrible showings from his terrible play callings.

Schramm definitely needs to go there is no excuse for how the offense has played this year this is the same group he had last year so he should know their strengths and weaknesses and gameplan accordingly. His play calling is bad and non imaginative also very predictable. We dont throw the ball down the field so the defense can all within 10 yards because they dont have to worry about the deep pass.
We need to hand the reigns over to somebody else for the rest of this year and see how it goes if it doesn't get any better than hire someone in the offseason.
