First Game Tonight

The Bengals' first of three games in Canada should have tipped off about 50 minutes ago. Katie has promised to supply a box if all goes according to plan. I will be very interested in who among the new players makes a statement and becomes a significant contributor on this trip. My gut instinct is that McGowan and Moreira are the most ready to contribute. I would bet we'll see a lot of McGowan and Gilchrest together in the back court.

I checked out the website of the team that they are playing tonight. It looks like University of the Fraser Valley beat San Diego 73-61 pretty easily on 8/11. San Diego won 2-3 during its trip to Canada--with all games being very close. San Diego was 11-21 last season--returns five letter winners and one starter from last years squad.

Huge game by Busma (23 points and 12 rebounds), but five turnovers. ISU struggles shooting (42 percent, 26 from 3), and I think that may be a bit of a theme with this team -- they don't have a lot of "pure shooters." Glanz and Moreira had four offensive boards apiece :D , that's a good sign, but ISU gave up 18 offensive rebounds  . You know Broderick Gilchrest will play better -- he was just 3 of 12 from the field and had 1 assist to 3 turnovers.

I like Chase Grabau, just a good all-around effort - 10 points on 3-5 shooting, a trey, 3-4 from the FT line, a couple of boards and four assists -- he'll be a solid player most nights.

I'm about to board a plane to see the final 2 games in Canada. I'll try and post more detailed reports of how everyone looks so far.
