Florida Athletics Donates $$$ to University

I saw this on ESPN and thought of all those naysayers who think sports just steals money from the rest of a university. Obviously, PSU is nowhere near being able to see something like this, but let's keep this in mind the next time sports vs. academics is framed as a zero sum game.

You realize that only the very top BCS schools are the ones that make enough money with sports to be able to transfer money back to the academic side. LSU is also one of them. They are the exception not the rule, even in the FBS (I-A).

Of course I realize this, but it is still a nice story, and the way some people talk, this sort of thing would never happen. Most of us on this board believe that athletics and academics are not mutually exclusive, and this news supports that belief if ever so slightly.
