SEC: The SEC had no comment on its future plans when reached by CBS Sports. Missouri athletic director Jim Sterk first noted that a potential conference-only schedule could be decided upon by late July, a timeframe that did not accelerate following announcements by the BIg Ten and Pac-12. The SEC's athletic directors met with commissioner Greg Sankey in mid-July. No major decisions were made, though options for the season were discussed.

Wondering if UF gave EWU a gurantee on $$ as long as the game is played. Florida generates $4M per home game. Guessing this one doesn't get played. Captain Obvious EWU needs that revenue this year more than any other year.

BSC Media poll picks EWU 4th. This is Best's fourth season, majority of roster are his recruits. Big season for Best. EWU hasn't missed the playoffs in consecutive years since 2002 & 2003.
 
One of the reasons for the delay in my opinion by Big Sky is this game. I wonder if they cancel we get $$$$.

I read a while back that in many cases, there are usually clauses (which the covid pandemic likely falls under) that can allow a team to back out without financial penalty.

While not having football for EWU this year would certainly suck, it's a much bigger financial hit for FBS teams to not have football. Supposedly for smaller schools like EWU, having no (or a delayed) season is better than a season with nobody in the stands.
