Hey Flylikeasparrow!!!

Welcome to the forum!!!

Any chance we will see Curtis Wilk join? Does he know about the Internet?

Here's the ironic thing about that: He's majoring in electronic media, but he has to have me help him download music and he wasn't even aware of what a message board was. So I don't think he'll be joining any time soon.

Interesting choice of username to go with...

Bobandwaldo is the greatest name of all! Schools JimmyD4three even, talhadfoursteals, and flylikeasparrow oh and patten jr!!

I think my brother joined recently with the screenname of MySpiritGone. He said it's a reference to a Jermaine Boyette quote. After Weber lost a big game several years ago, Boyette was quoted in the newspaper as saying "Man, my spirit gone." Although grammatically incorrect and confusing, it remains a classic quote and will echo throughout the annals of Weber State history. So I have to vote for that name as best on here.

I love all the names paying homage to former players, like Tal, Sparrow, Baskerville, Patton, and my own. I'm thinking or creating other names paying tribute to former greats like Brad Barton, GB Burningham, Troy Goodell, and other walk-ons. Any ideas?

Jimmy,

I guess its been too long, your memory is fading...

Look for Boyette on WeberHoops.com in the coming months, we will have the video of the quote. It was after we won the '03 Big Sky title. He was being interviewed by the local news station in the tunnel under the Dee.

"I had to 2 fouls and everything, I stepped up on the big stage today, my spirit gone...and we got it done"

Thanks for clearing that up. I was paraphrasing my brother, who told me the story the other night. But I do remember hearing it somewhere.

It's amazing how you had the source for a single obscure quote like that. My spirit gone. You da man.

don't ever disrespect bobandwaldo by questioning his knowlege of obscure facts about weber basketball. he is the vault of information and knowlege of any quote, fact, myth, or historical event that ever took place in Weber State basketball.

let me demonstrate:
Hey, Bobandwaldo, Who is Weber State's all time leading assist man? What was WEber State's Big Sky record the last time they won the title? and, Has weber state ever won back to back big skyk titles? if so when?

Hey!! The most famous quote in Weber history is not obscure...

Patten Jr was not at the games back then probably in Argentina for his semester at sea. My guess is JimmyD was also out of state...during 2003.

Patten Jr, a) your an idiot!

Who is Weber State's all time leading assist man?
b) Mark Mattos

What was WEber State's Big Sky record the last time they won the title?

c)13-5 technically 11-5 and 20-12 overall

and, Has weber state ever won back to back big skyk titles? if so when?[/

d)yes, 4 times including a 6-peat

e) please...thats it???

f) oph!

So is Baskerville82 and MySpiritGone related to JimmyDfor3? Are these brothers... is Baskerville the smallest, and worst basketball player, of the three? Oh to speak up for Jimmy, he was at Supaman's final game at the Dee, he and the salad bowl got there late and had to site virtually in the rafters.

Tal is right about that, and I'm still pissed at the fickle fans who showed up for that game, forcing me to sit in the freakin' nosebleeds. Where the heck were those fans during the other home games? Bandwagon fans deserve to have their genitals chomped by rabid circus monkeys.

But I think that was the most crowded I've ever seen the Dee. Very cool night. Too bad some poser was sitting in my regular seat.

I think that is the only time in the last 20 years that the student section was completely sold out. I just remember a rabid Eastern Washington fan scratching my back as I jumped over the railing to rush the court... Oh never forget the Phantom Penny!!

Ok, I have a confession to make after all these years. It was me who threw the fabled "phantom penny."
I was upset about being stuck 50 rows above the floor while all the phonies cheered on Weber for the first time that season and decided to have my vengeance. I pulled a shiny penny out of my pocket and heaved it with all my might toward the basketball court far below me, just as Eastern Washington's Danny Pariseu threw a pass to the Eagles' famed "Mullet." The coin hit the floor with an audible crack and lay there, winking at me under the hot lights of the Dee. One of the refs noticed it and decided to call a technical foul on the "home" crowd, even though the site of the tournament was technically neutral and there was no home crowd. It was easily the worst call by any official in the history of sports.

So now, with the story out, I'll be able to sleep tonight. I'm going to call little Danny Pariseau tonight and apologize personally.
