We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Thanks for sharing that, Edub. One thing I've noticed is that the vast majority of our players cite the comradery and family type bonds of the players and coaches, which I don't think you see as much at other schools. We have some excellent coaches and even better people in this program. Proud to be an Eagle!

The clip below says it all, but to clarify Mike and Kat Roos didn't help with our turf, they made it happen. The paid for roughly half the expense and when they stepped up, Marc Hughes gathered the rest of the money in a remarkably short time. The school president and the athletic director provided the internal leadership that overcame some small minded people on campus who don't really care much about athletics, just their own little corner of EWU. Win or lose this playoff season, our turf changed EWU in ways all loyal fans are aware of over two years later. Today, EWU apparel is much more visible in Spokane. People are proud to be Eagles and they should be. It is a good school and a great bargain.

Thanks again to Mike and Kat, hope to see you in Texas.

When it comes to Eastern Washington linemen, the gold standard is Vancouver's Michael Roos. The Mountain View graduate is a former Eagles All-American and a well-paid starting offensive tackle for the NFL's Tennessee Titans.

Forgette and Miller went to school in the same district as Roos and have met him briefly. Roos is significantly involved at Eastern Washington, as he's often in Cheney for fundraisers, and it was his $500,000 donation that helped the school install its nearly unique red turf in the football stadium, renamed Roos Field following the remodel.

"Everybody around here sees him as a great guy. Any time we need something big, he helps out," Miller said.

The players particularly love the red turf.

"It's a big advantage. Before we got the red turf, our home field really wasn't much of a home. Now it's given us an identity," Miller said. "I love it when people talk bad about it."
