EWU football-related stories in the S-R since the weekend...
The first in a series of position stories, on the quarterbacks Saturday:
http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2012/apr/07/eastern-qb-candidates-attempt-to-seize-the-moment/
A look at the Gateway Project proposal, also Saturday:
http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2012/apr/07/ewu-molds-big-dreams-with-gateway-project/
A report on Saturday's scrimmage which ran Sunday:
http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2012/apr/08/intensity-level-high-at-ewus-first-scrimmage/
Baldwin assesses practice thus far and looks ahead to this week, in today's paper:
http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2012/apr/10/eagles-plan-to-get-back-to-basics/

Just a wild guess, but I'd expect position stories this week on WRs and RBs, along with practice and scrimmage reports... :thumb:

The Spokesman has stepped it up, and Jim Allen is doing a pretty good job. Hope it continues all season. :thumb:

A wild guess?? I'd say you have the inside track...

For those that need more updates, Jim is on Twitter at @srjimallen. He's at practice right now.

Jim has been fantastic so far covering the Eags...so much better than the spokesman has done in years past.

I agree - it's very noticeable how much effort the S-R is putting in to the Eags so far. I just wish Jim would be more active on Twitter.
Twitter is a great way to provide fans with unique perspectives, especially with a beat (like EWU football).
If you have Twitter, you should encourage Jim to step it up there - @srjimallen

EWU overflows with quality receivers

Eastern Washington wide receivers coach Junior Adams doesn’t have the easiest job on campus. Really.

It’s just the opposite, said Adams, who in four years has crafted a unit that should be the best in the Big Sky Conference, if not the entire Football Championship Subdivision. The Eagles’ receiving corps is headlined by “The Trio” of Nicholas Edwards, Greg Herd and Brandon Kaufman, all of whom have won All-America honors.

“They challenge me every day,” said Adams, whose career at Eastern has mirrored the growth of his stars. “I can’t walk into a meeting half a step off or walk onto the field half a step off, because they’ll call me on it.”

I am very pleasantly surprised with all of the coverage the Spokesman has been giving the Eagles. Since I have been among the more critical of fans when we received NO coverage, I think they deserve acknowledgement for this coverage.
