Free Throws

We all know that this team has struggled with them over the past few years. What is it about Free Throws? Is it mechanical? Mental? Why do players like Jois and Seiferth last year struggle? Why do players like Kelly, Harvey do so well? Bigs usually don't do as well as shooters, but there were some in history that did great, like Sabonis at Portland. Jorg has a pretty good stroke from the line.

You can coach it all you want I think, but it comes down to the player believing they can.

Thoughts?

For a big man, Jorg does have a fluid free throw stroke. Venky Jois has struggled, but his mechanics look pretty good. He has lost quite a few points from the line. Sometimes I think really active players with big motors have a hard time dialing it down and concentrating at the line.

IMO it is mental. I watch players so focused on getting their toes so perfectly on the line. Does that 1/8 of an inch really matter? NO They should be visualizing the ball in the rim. See the ball going down. The more they fear missing the more likely they WILL miss.

Team was 26-29 from the stripe today. Jois was 8-8!!

I was at the game and chuckled every time Jois hit a free throw. He was in the dunking mod tonight also. :D :D

come say hi next time. Sec D row 1 seats 13-14 right on the wall. Right behind Vic Wallace

What do you think about the December road trip? Seattle U, UW, Cal, San Franciso. Wow!

2-2. Win at Seattle and San Francisco are not good possibilities. Upset at UW might be sweeter than the Indiana game

Would love to beat the DAWGS! This team will pose matchup nightmares for many teams. I think the EAGS get through the December road trip with only a loss to Cal. Interesting in that the griz also play(ed) Seattle U, San Franciso and Cal. so I guess we will have some comparison with the griz.

Most likely will not be at the Dec. 22nd game. UPS is pretty nuts 3 days before Christmas.

I will give you a shout on the board here as it gets closer. This time of year is your FedEx playoffs.
GOEAGS!

I would think being confused with USPS would be much worse, considering their reputation.
