Freshman of the Year

Who is it gonna be? I don't think there is any doubt that it will be a WSU player. But which one? If you had to pick today, who would you pick? There have been times this year when I would have voted Tresnak, Fulton or JRich. After the UNC game I think i'd have to go with JRich, but there really is a lot of hoop to be played. The award really could go to any of them still.

Oh and by the way, is there anyone who could take newcomer of the year from Bamforth? I'm not too familiar with the newbies on the other teams.

Just went back and looked up some game stats. It looks like since conference play has started Tresnak's minutes and stats have gone down quite a bit. Fulton has been the most consistent, gotten more playing time and more points, so I think I would have to vote for him. However, if the UNC game was JRich's break out game and he can keep playing like that, Fulton may get some competition for the award from his own teammate.

Very interesting...

Well, here is what I have found from each team:

CSUS: Jackson Carbajal for Freshman of the Yeah.
UNC: Emmanual Ado or Paul Garnica for Fresh of Year, Elliot Llyod for Newcomer, and Devon Beitzel for MVP
ISU: Kenny McGowan for Newcomer
EWU: Tremayne Johnson for Newcomer
PSU: Charles Odum for Newcomer
NAU: Cameron Jones for MVP
MSU: Shawn Reid Fresh of Year, Erich Rusch/Bobby Howard for MVP
UM: Kareem Jamar for Fresh, Art Steward for Newcomer, and Brian Qvale/Will Cherry for MVP.
Weber: Byron Fulton or Richardson for Fresh, Scott Bamforth for Newcomer

Scott is the only player that has a possibility of being a first-teamer, unless Hughey starts picking up his game. I guess Morris and Bull both have a chance, but in all likelihood they are probably going to end up on the second team.
