Future Football Schedules

Good to see 12 games with 6 at home. Can we please make sure that the schedule is now updated on the ISU athletics website.

when is the last time that we did not play either Montana or Montana State?

I guess it is tough to schedule non-conference games these days since most teams in the West are either now in the Big Sky (Cal Poly, Davis, SUU) or DI teams that won't come to Pocatello. I wonder how much good it does for a Big Sky team to play a much smaller opponent like Dixie State or Western State?

I see that we only play one money game for this season. My concern is that as outrageously expensive as football is, shouldn't we play a couple of them every year? I think our FB budget is a few million every year, and we don't get much in the way of state support or in fan support -- at least not yet. Also, we'd better be able to beat Dixie and Western States Insurance or else we're in for a long season!!

There is one more road game to be announced for this season and best guess is that it will be a money game. Probably the weekend of Aug. 31.

I think FCS games at our level are very expensive -- you either have to pay the school to come play at your place (ISU doesn't have the resources to do that), or you have to reach a home-and-home agreement -- which means you are stuck paying the travel expenses for one of those road games. Obviously, when you play up, the host school pays your costs. It was a lot easier when we had Southern Utah as a neighboring, non-conference FCS school -- that was just a bus ride. But what FCS school are you going to play now that doesn't require an expensive road trip to reach?
