Personally, I would like to see SMU, UTEP or some other team in the southeastern part of the country that will be near my soon to be again stomping ground of Texas.

Let's nationalize the Barny Road Show. With Arkansas in the mix, we're beginning to think more nationally than parochially. What better way to advertise a rising team's program than to have a big-name university play you in their nationally-known stadium and then reward you with a huge pay day? I like to think that we will also give them a helluva rousing good game, one they weren't altogether expecting from an upstart. That way, we also begin to become endeared to dear old Portland -- when they see our guts on the line on national television, making them bleeding proud, like when Steven Long carried to score on Washington State.

Appalachian State beat Michigan years ago, do you recall? Now North Dakota State is going to soon test Oregon. I think, as Vikings, we need to align ourselves with these brave program, doing the requisite preparation to provide a real challenge and possible freak-win if the "college football gods" allow. That was a helluva game between Montana and North Dakota State recently, wouldn't you agree? It's about aligning the emotion properly.

Actually, NDSU has proven to be a real giant killer, taking down many FBS teams in the past. The Big 10 actually has banned their members from playing anyone in the Mo Valley, which is why NDSU needs to look elsewhere for money games. With many Big Sky schools getting home and homes with the Valley (not just Montana, Montana State and North Dakota), I wouldn't mind jumping on that bandwagon. It would bring some of the highest caliber teams in the FCS to Portland and show this market the talent that exists at our level nationally.

BTW, this year Montana State heads in to Wazzu to try to earn the threepeat for the conference against the Cougs. (PSU in 2015, EWU in 2016). It would be nice if the string is still alive when we play them again in 2021. :thumb:

Looks like the Vikings are heading South a couple times to play a FBS school:

Nice. Should be in their new stadium as well.

So:
2019: Arkansas, Boise State
2020: Arizona
2021: Washington State
2022: San Jose State
2023: Oregon, Wyoming
(I already see a pattern compared to previous years)
2024 and 2026: San Diego State

This may not get easier.

So, looks like it is in need of some updating.

2020, at Arizona, at Oregon State, North Dakota at home
2021 at Hawaii, at Wazzu
2022 at San Jose State, at Washington
2023 at Oregon, at Wyoming
2024 at Wazzu, at San Diego State
2025 at North Dakota
2026 at San Diego State, at Oregon

so far :thumb:
