That won't/will not? be easy by any stretch, but it IS a winnable game....

It's not overly important if the game is winnable or not. What's important is the payout, and how much it is.
Yup. We're not making a trip to UDub this fall because we think we can win, that trip is to keep the lights on plain and simple.

It's been awhile, but if I remember right, I was referring to the Fresneck game. Either way, they're winnable, Fresneck moreso than UW. While I agree that the payola is more important, I won't look askance at an FBS win, either. Assuming we get the job done in-league, that will look VERY good come playoff time....

It looks like the Hornets will play another FBS school from the Mountain West. Sac State will San Diego State in Sept of 2018.

Nice to get a game against San Diego State

Curious who we have played up all time?

Cal
Stanford
Oregon State
Colorado
Arizona State
University of New Mexico
New Mexico State
Fresno State
San Jose State
UOP
Nevada (not sure we played them at their current level)
UNLV

Three weeks away from playing University of Washington

Who might be missing from my list?

Boise State and yes, we did play Nevada about 5 years ago.

thanks.

So forgot about UTEP and indeed we have played Oregon State now twice.

And oh my, forgot about that Colorado State game which I think we had a chance to win with a field goal which I think was blocked late in the game.

No idea why I can't remember playing Boise State.

Have we ever played Idaho?

And , if not, wonder why.

Good question, JP.

Short of taking the travel cost hit of playing at a MAC/Sun Belt school, this is probably about as close to a gimme FBS win as we can find on this side of the country. Idaho would probably be an easier win for us at this point than App State, at any rate....

Finally we play SDSU, they have a knack for losing FCS games. I will be at that game.

Idaho doesn't have the budget to make a game against them worthwhile. We shouldn't be playing FBS games for anything less than a 400k payout. :twocents:

Hopefully it will be our biggest pay out ever.

UW always seems to sell out and think Husky Stadium holds 72,000

Of course agree with SD that we need to play up when it means a huge pay day for Sac State until the day when our home gate at Hornet Stadium draws 15K to 20K consistently.

And cannot remember what our largest pay day all time has been? $400K? More? Think Oregon State was over $400K when we won.
