Future scheduling... Thoughts on UNLV included

Does anyone know why SUU has a home game against UNLV next week? How were they able to pull that one off? If they can do that then certainly WSU can do the same. What about a 3 for 1 with Ben Howland and UCLA? That's probably a dream game, but exciting to think about. As for UVU, I agree that it's a much better game for WSU than Montana Tech, but with our history in Orem (0-2) maybe they want us to play there before they come here again. Doing a 1 for 1 each year (which I am cool with). I'm sure coach Rahe doesn't want anything to do with losing there. Who really knows? That's just a thought on UVU as well.

If SUU can get the Rebels we should too, does anybody know for sure on next year(UNLV), and if Utah can get Michigan and Oklahoma at the Huntsman within a week surely we could strike some deals with CAL,USC,Ariz St.,Gonzagas of the world. By the looks of last night you wouldn't know we beat a team that beat Michigan by 16, and we beat Sac. St, by the same margin as USC did except we scored 80 on them and compared to 51 for the Trojans. I think we'll be ready to play SUU, Rahe didn't sound very happy at all on the postgame.

i'd like to see us try a 2 for 1 with a big school but not UNLV. they aren't even close to 2 for 1 worthy. its easy for suu to get unlv a. they are close. b. suu has no chance to win. when idaho got their new coach that rahe knew someone asked if we could get idaho to come to weber. he said not a chance will they come here. and he said they had the easiest time ever scheduling. everyone wanted to play them when they couldn't win any games. he said we were stuggling to fill the scheduel and it sounds like that has happened these past 3 yrs.

as for us we have a harder time scheduling. even as a midmajor DI we are a good one so there is a chance a bigger school would lose (and htey wouldn't consider it a "good" loss) as well we play very well at home no matter who we play historically. its too much of a gamble for a big school compared to what they would benefit from the home and home.

now a 2 for 1 is different and it would have to be against what football calls the "bcs conferences".

dont ever plan on us not playing a DII, no prob with 1 per yr not that i look forward to the games myself but everyone else does it so no reason we won't schedule a practice game. as for last night's game...well in 2008 we beat fort lewis in OT, then we beat USU so it didn't mean much just like yester's game has no meaning. and rahe def didn't sound happy about the game last night. we can guarantee they'll be amped up for suu.

When was the last time we had a team like Air Force, or Colorado State, or Idaho or even Wyoming come to the Dee Events Center? Doesnt anybody think we might get a chance to get Colorado at home? There is no way Cal or UCLA would come here, but some other local bigger schools from the WAC or Mtn West or even the WCC would be better than playing Montana Techs and Western States.
