Game Day Experience in Cheney

Hey guys,

I have yet to be out to a game this year, but headed out there next week with work. I've been paying attention every year and can't say enough how much the game day experience improves every single year, particularly compared to 10 years ago when I was a Freshman.

Anyone have any comments about the past 2 home games and what is working well on Saturdays out in Cheney in 2016?

Crowds have been great, especially this last game. I don't think school was in session yet for the UNI game. I can't say that there's anything new or unique this season other than they have the beer gardens in both end zones this year. Other than that...we need more seats!

This should be a crowd chant.

Has anyone else noticed that the quality of the sound system has gone down ...at least when they're playing music and vids?

It seems to fade in and out and be distorted a little.

Environment does seem to improve with each home game. In the P9 lot, four women are pulling around a wagon cart filled with booze called the shot wagon. They give everyone that is interested a shot. Said they picked it up from going to the NDSU game.

I love this idea!

I know what you are saying but I think it is a result of the wind that we have had and not the sound system.

Both home games have had a lot of wind. The wind really sucks the sound away from the stadium and can make it sound like it is fading in and out.

Hmmm...this makes sense but I haven't noticed it before and those weren't the first two windy games we've had. It also doesn't seem to be as prevalent when it's the PA versus music. Could be wrong though.

Speaking to the original topic, I can honestly say watching a game at Roos over the past 5 years is as exciting for me as any where.

I was reflecting to my wife after the UNI game about this. I had the chance to go the EWU game in Pullman, Seahawks home opener, and then UNI in Cheney in back-to-back-to-back weekends and I had that same excited, energized feeling at Roos as at the other venues. I love the environment at Roos; it's not CenturyLink or Martin Stadium but is pretty special for me and my son.

What about favorite game day traditions?

We always make it to El Rodeo either before or after the game, great food and amazing deep fried ice cream! :)

I'm also a sucker for buying a new shirt/hat pretty much every visit to Cheney.

Well, as everyone knows it's Homecoming week and game day experience for Sat. includes:
https://www.ewu.edu/hpfw , the City of Cheney Tail Gate in Downtown Cheney from 8:30am-9:45, Parade downtown at 10:00, walk up to campus for UNC Game and tons of after game activities. Always Bet on Red Theme.

Last year getting spot for parade nite before

Bills at 8am for the tailgate downtown. Drank 3 gallons beer, ate a picked egg and a pigs foot, played 15 games red ball for a pack of smokes (guess that was in '75).

El Rodeo is the thing I miss most about Cheney. Still haven't found a Mexican restaurant like it.

I wasn't able to make it to a home game last season, but I will be coming up for the Montana game. I was trying to remember what they do for the team entrance before the game (i.e, intro song, and what they show on the big screen). I've always enjoyed Virginia Tech's intro with Enter Sandman.
If you were chosen to pick a new intro song/big screen ideas for the team to get them and the fans pumped, what would it be?
