My wife and I are flying into GEG on Friday to watch the whooping on Saturday. :hitit: BTW: 1st ever EWU game. Can't tell you how excited we are (it will be even better when the our son plays!) Question: how soon do we need to get to Cheney and is parking available and where?

Not sure what time you get in on Friday, but there is a tailgate party friday night sponsored by the EAA, starts at 6PM goes until 9PM, $25 includes food/drink and they will have a band.

Saturday all depends on what you want to do. The tailgates should start really showing up around 1 pm. Some will be there before. The upper lot is where the majority of the tailgates will take place. If you just want to make the game and find a decent parking space, I would say about an hour before the game, that way you can park, pretty much do a quick walk through and then find your seats.

Parking can be difficult for the Griz games. If you are real early, like 1 maybe 2 o'clock, you may be able to parking in the lower section of the stadium lot for $5. If not, there is free parking on the main street in front of the stadium, when you drive up you will see a bunch of cars parking on the side. There are a lot of lots around campus, but some require parking permits. Your best bet is the $5 stadium lot which will fill up really fast or park on the street near the stadium.

Enjoy your first EWU game, it will be a GREAT one. Just stop by any of the tailgates in the upper lot and i'm sure some food and drinks will come your way, they are very friendly...

Our tailgating in the upper lot will start at 8 am! Stop by and grab a drink and some food! We'll have the tallest flag pole with the red and white EWU flag! Enjoy your first game and GO EAGS! :thumb:

The upper level is the best tailgate. Get there a couple hours early and enjoy the fellowship. Parking is all over, but the $5 lot fills up quick. Parking can be a problem if you aren't there early. Our new scoreboard should also be up which should improve the gameday experience. Enjoy the experience and good luck to your son.

i thought the upper lot is already sold out for the season for RVs?....i also plan on being there by 9am or so. it's griz game day baby! I

If you are not real early and looking for parking, go past the stadium where you will see several lots and street parking for quite a way. In the past couple of years the fun factor of tailgating has clicked up several notches.
Good luck to you and your son, it will be a great game and a lot of fun.

Tallest flag pole? That sounds like a challenge. Eagle-Griz games are always fun, but this one should be epic with a tailgate to match. If anyone's partying in the upper lot Friday night, come by the 40' horse trailer in the back and have a cocktail with us. Same goes for Saturday. I can't wait to start this up all over again.

If I end up drinking in a 40' horse trailer on a Friday night...then it was a good night....we may have to stop by and see you '93 if you are around.

It is the tallest flagpole, but there may be a couple that sit higher since they're flown from motorhomes! Ours is flown from the receiver hitch on the back of a truck with a custom built 30' pole! If someone wants a challenge, we'll make it 40'! :D

Hope to see some of you guys up there. I think i'll be parked in the EAA area, but not sure where i'll actually be tailgating. Black A4 with Oregon plates (and custom made EWU vinyl decal on the window:))

Vic, ya, it was the SEMO game, we were definitely drunk:). The little one is now 2 years old and not as much boozing these days! I have season tickets, so i'll be up for 3 games this year plus down at portland state. Hopefully you'll be in the EAA area, i will be for sure, as will the wife, but the baby is staying with grandma and grandpa.

My Brother and I will be getting there a couple of hours early this time. In 2010 for the UM game they double sold my Season Tickets and tried to get me to move. So hopefully I won't have to go through that again. My seats are Sec C Row 26 Seats 23 & 24. Stop by and say hi. Go EAGS!!

Gates open at 2 pm, and we are in the same row 26C, I have seats 5,6,7,8. Will have couple of my older Son/Dau there before I get there. We have a function at President "A" home, 1:15-3:15 :thumb: :thumb: ;) ;) . just before the kick off at 4:15pm. Scoreboard and Speakers were hooked up yesterday, everything looks great, speakers are "AWSOME"  :notworthy: :notworthy: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: . Enjoyu while here. Vic Wallace

EdubAlum,
Will try and come to the EAA Area. Roos Field have all the Bleachers in positioin. See all tomorrow. Vic

Everyone remember to wear black to the game on Saturday! In spirit of EWU wearing their all black uni's, word on campus is to wear black and create the "blackout" at Roos field! Make sure and spread the word. It would look awfully sweet if we can actually pull it together!
