Game Thoughts

Fans: Where were they? My father in law and I walked up to the South End Zone gate and picked up $14 40 Yard Line 15th row seats. With prices like that you should fill that stadium up! There isn't much going on in Ogden on a Saturday afternoon, with the talent on your team that stadium should be filled!

Student Section: Where is it? Does your student section show up to anything besides basketball?

Team: Loads of talent, but crappy play calling killed you guys today. You have an all american at running back, why throw a swing pass on 4 and 1 with 20 seconds left on the goal line? Stack the line with 2 TE and let the beast run. Another question I have is your O-Line, do they always give up that many hits on your QB? You're Left Tackle was getting destroyed all game, I don't see why he stayed in.

Officiating: i will never again bitch about the Mtn. West Refs again. Horrible!!!!

Today reminded me of the Utes back in the late 90's early 00's. Loads of talents but under utilized, you guys have the talent like the old Mac years at the U but the offense needed to be changed for the talent to shine. The 1st down Run, 2nd down Run, 3rd down Pass is too predictable and the 2 fake field goals in a row.... Everyone in the stadium knew that was coming!

Big Z.. Thanks for coming to the game. I wish the outcome would have been different. Oh, I totally agree with everything you are saying. Ogden just doesn't care. The students would all rather go to a different U, and the play calling is being done by amatuers, but thats all we can get. Our old OC and DC rather would go to USU, and be position coaches rather than being Coordinators. I wouldn't have left until I got a Coordinator position with a FBS team, especially Utah State. Oh well, USU is going bankrupt, they are cutting profs salaries and making their professionals go on furloughs, but hell they can Fucking pay their coaches more than Weber. So we lose our good coaches and have to deal with Hammer...

Epic game, just as I predicted. While sloppy at times on both ends, who can argue with a game that comes down to a 4th and goal with 20 seconds left. Really questionable call at the end by the WSU coaches, but even if you had given it to Smith, we had that play snuffed out as well. Our middle LB, Gazzero, absolutely stood up Smith on the play fake. It was a great game that could have gone either way. Too bad more of your fans were not in attendance; could have been a factor during the game if you would have had a loud, packed stadium. As it was, I was watching on TV and sound like many times during the game that the Bobcat fans were louder. Kind of disappointing as fan of the Big Sky to see that kind of turnout. I was really hoping last season would provide as motivation for your fanbase, but evidently there are still problems on that aspect. I understand it was LDS general conference, but still, c'mon. If the Pope was in town and I had the chance to go see him or go to the Bobcat game, well, give me my Bobcats any day of the week!

Interesting to note that a few of you on this board still do not want to give any props to my Bobcats for the win; rather it was Wildcat mistakes that lost the game for WSU. Maybe so, but I'm willing to guess that some of those mistakes were the direct result of Bobcat pressure. It's fine by me to be overlooked; UNC fans were even overlooking us before our game. I hope we get overlooked all season long - I think we have a pretty solid team (not willing to say great just yet), and it will be fun to watch them mature.

It has been fun talking football with you guys. I will be checking in on your board as the season goes along. You guys have a great team. Use this loss as motivation to fire up your squad the rest of the season. We will be rooting for you this weekend against EWU, and most definitely will be behind you on Halloween! Good luck Purple Pack; maybe we will meet up again in the playoffs!

while it was a winnable game, msu's d made huge plays all game long - blocked FG, forced a fumble on the 1 yd line, picked one off in the endzone.

Hey Old Skool you are going to have a really difficult time trying to convince anyone that Weber was beaten in this game. Weber beat themselves with their mistakes. However, I do think MSU played the game they had to play to win. Keep the score close and stop Weber's last drive. No matter, your Bobcats won. Good luck the rest of the way. I've always thought that MSU is a good team and has the potential to break the UM streak. Lets hope anyone can this year. Right now, I'm thinking MSU should start playing all of their home games at Stewart Stadium.

Yeah, I can't quite figure that one out. And you've had some pretty darn good teams many of those years we have won down in Ogden. I still think this conference is wide open and up for grabs for several teams. EWU is 3-0, but still has to play you, us, NAU, and Montana. UM is 2-0, but still has to play you, us, & EWU. We're 2-0, but still have to play NAU, EWU and UM. You're 2-1, but still have to play EWU, NAU, & UM. It's real early and there's a lot of ball still left to play. I definitely don't think anyone will run the conference table. In fact, you could even have a two-loss team win the conference this season; the Big Sky is that close. Northern Colorado proved that anyone can win, when they practically upset NAU in Flagstaff last weekend. Keep your dobbers up and go get 'em the rest of the way. I'll be cheering for you!

I agree with you Old Skool. The Conference is really competitive and there is a great deal of parity among the teams. No matter what, you've got to come ready to play and play your best every week.
