Game Thread: WSU @ PSU

What happened there at the end? I was watching on Big Sky TV, but it was unclear. The box score just says "turnover" on Hughey. Did he walk or step on the end line?

we had a good lookin finish; hughey drove in, did a 360, shot a layup. the refs called him for a walk. game over.

psu shot 8 more free throws off of 6 more fouls. rebounding even. turnovers 12 for us, 5 for them.

our shooting was great but we needed to get to the stripe more.

Why is it that Big Sky Refs always gives Weber State the shaft? If you go back you will see that they always call more than enough fouls on us when both teams are aggressive. I wish we could get Kevin back.

It's because it's their way at getting back at us. We have the largest crowds in the Big Sky and give them the hardest time. Our "Big Sky refs suck" chant doesn't help us out too much. I hate to see refs call a game- deciding call like that. I didn't see the game but my attitude has always been if it's close at the end of the game swallow the whistle and let the players decide the outcome. Anyone watch this? Was it an obvious travel?

It was borderline...I think there was a better chance of Hughey stepping out of bounds than a travel. To me, and this is purely my opinion, if he did travel, he was helped. There was more of a foul on the play than a travel. However, the call was made and like I said it was borderline.

Weber's biggest enemy last night was their loss of intensity in the second half, and their inability to limit the Vikings offensive rebounds.

the ref's did not cost Weber this game. Like Tal said it was a lack of intensity, giving up way too many offensive rebounds, and also the fact that the WSU bench only scored 4 points combined killed them. Hopefully they can at least get a 3 or 4 seed in the Big sky tourney and still host a playoff game.
