Northern Colorado linebacker Clarence Bumpas says the Bears are ready for a brawl.
"We watched film on these guys and they are pretty much a smashmouth, downhill running team," Bumpas told the Greeley Tribune. "So that is what it is going to boil down to. It is going to be a bar fight in the middle of the field. It is going to be whoever has the will to stop that run."
“They have got a slew of backs,” Shay said. “(Booker) is their main back, but they have a host of guys. Really what they do is they line up in two tight ends and running backs and one right receiver which we have not seen a lot.”
Meanwhile, while the Wildcats are one of the best rushing teams in the conference, they are also one of the worst at stopping the run.
Weber State is giving up an average of 279 yards per game on the ground, the worst in the conference.
UNC running back Quinten Hildreth is confident he can take advantage of a Wildcats defense that is allowing 6.6 yards per carry.
“I want to double that,” Hildreth said. “Six (yards per carry) it is good, but I want to double that. It is going to be fun.”
