• Hi Guest,

    We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

    With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Heard from a reliable source that Garrett Swanson has been granted a release by Coach Evans to talk to other coaches - http://www.bigskybball.com/2012/04/garrett-swanson-of-idaho-state-granted.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was really looking forward to seeing Swanson mature as a Bengal. He seemed to be getting opportunity when O'Brien was coaching, but rarely came off the bench after Martin took over. I think Swanson was getting overpowered after teams got an opportunity to see him on film. Hopefully if he ends up someplace else he has the opportunity to redshirt and get stronger. One thing that drove me crazy over the years has been ISU burning redshirts years on kids. I don't think it is fair to ask them to lose a year for 5-10 min a game.

Anyhow, with coaching changes comes players changes. I hope Swanson lands on his feet and has a nice little career somewhere.

Tough loss. I think Swanson is a very quality player - I hate to see him leave. Smooth jump shot, good range, has a nose for the ball, decent defender, and smart. He's going to flourish wherever he goes - I just hope it isn't another Big Sky school because he will definitely make the Bengals regret the day he left.

Makes me sad to read this! Well, hopefully things get worked out, because I was looking forward to watching Hatchett, Baldwin, Morgan, and Swanson play another season together. If it's meant to be, Swanson will keep working with the team and prove that he's better than the new players coming in. Besides McGowan's thirty points a game this season, the only other sparkle of talent I saw was Swanson's jumpshot!
