Hang on. Yes they have underachieved so far, but they've lost to two good teams. They really needed to win one of those for a shot at the conf championship and they can't afford another misstep in the weak part of the schedule coming up, but there's still a lot of season yet and for this team to mature. It's still possible to win out you know.
I never really understood why people blame the coaches for personal foul penalties. It's the player's mistake not the coach. All the coach can do is replace the player.
Speaking of replacing players making mistakes, KM's episodic horrible play is getting hard to watch. He can throw a good ball at times, but he's not consistent and his decision making has been awful at times.
The bottom line is we are just giving up way too many points. Our D loses its intensity after a few drives or immediately after any bad break.
Better play will come with better leadership. That has to come from the players not the coaches.

That is insane to blame the defense. The offense started the team out in a huge hole in Montana. No defense I know of can withstand four turnovers and always leading to awesome field position for the grizz. One turnover was an instant touchdown, one was on the opening drive of the second half to get us back in the game and the other two were ridiculous mistakes.
Stop blaming the defense. There is no defense that can overcome the situations the turnovers and penalties put them in time after time. Coaches get blamed for the ridiculous amount of penalties because it is a discipline issue. Our coaches blame the refs for the calls and don't take the kids out that cause the penalties.
Are you watching the same game as I watch? KM is consistent at one thing and that is putting more pressure on our defense week after week than they or any defense can overcome. Paris Penn had a nice drive and let the defense rest for a change and then they came out and held Montana to a three and out.

This is all very basic football and it's all easy to see if you watch the game and understand the problems because they just keep happening week after week after week.

I can't help but think that firing the coaches now for having yet to overcome some systemic problem areas would be premature. I think they're building something viable here, and coaches like JH don't come along every day. We would be back to square one looking for someone like NB.
Yes, the mental errors are big and I thought the team played as though MT's OLine were insurmountable. But NAU surmounted them enough to win. We do need to hold the coaches accountable to making improvement leaps season to season, and note an improvement progression during the season. You need to get your concerns heard, as if you were attending a city council meeting. Take the mike and let us hear you.
I think what you need is to come to a Coach's Lunch at the Sketty Factory, get called on and express all your concerns to the coach and the attendees, which includes administration and monied supporters. Be prepared to cover your points like bullets (no rambling), but give the answers the coach has a fair hearing. Maybe you will wish to follow up his responses with more questions. Do it. Ask why and when. Maybe there's a progression timetable constraint we're not aware of yet. :twocents:
