Gonzaga Game

Ugh, that was a tough stretch to end the game on. Too bad, we played pretty well at times.

Too many turnovers, and our offensive play fell apart down the stretch. Gonzaga does play some pretty tough defense with out high pressure on the ball.

hey coach ever heard the word "substitution", no wonder we played like crap down the stretch...look at the play by play for the second half, it's abysmal....once again. No team play....leaving starters in so long they can't make a shot to save their lives, and turn overs galore, and oh yeah, let's just say they were a good team so we can feel good about the loss, try looking at yourself in the mirror and say that coach. Let's try once, to play to win, not to play not to lose. Pathetic, we had that game and should have/could have won. 3:45 left and nothing but yakking and turnovers, check it out; should have subbed out early in the second to keep your starters on point for end of half. oh well, would have could have should have..:-), way to keep it close. :?

COACHING, COACHING, COACHING, or lack thereof...
Players on the floor played their hearts out, but who can give 100% effort for 36+ minutes???
Vikings HAD this game before crumbling from exhaustion down the stretch.
A 10 point lead with under 10 minutes left degenerated into fouls, turnovers, and many missed 3 pointers, all indicators of a tired team, and a poorly directed one.
Murrell looked like a "deer in the headlights" and could not manage the game once again. "Our defense kind of lacked in the second half. A lot of the things we did in the first half defensively to create turnovers and points didn't happen in the second half. Bottom line, they (Gonzaga) are a great team".
Everyone knows that defense is directly proportional to effort given, but there was none left in the tank when it counted. If Murrell had given her 3 starting guards ANY rest in the second half who knows how this game might have turned out. For Murrell to deflect responsibility for this heartbreaking loss from herself is infuriating. Bottom line, Vikings had a great team on the ropes and blew it!
