First of all, I'm glad this local rivalry is back. There were some seriously fun games there in the early 2000s. I went to most of those. I don't know that I love what's in store for the eags this year though. Gonzaga just took down a 6-time national champion in N. Carolina. Their resume is very impressive as usual and they are ranked #2 in the country. A lot of the top analysts are starting to say that they could win the national championship. There's nothing I really like about this matchup if I'm being honest. I think it's going to take us being very hot, and Gonzaga being very cold to make this a game. Also, staying out of foul trouble will be very important. I understand that anything can happen, but we've got our work cut out for us. I'm guessing that when the spread comes out it will be GU -19.5 or somewhere close to that.

All that being said, I hope we go in there and give them everything we've got. I love big games like this! We've got some guys that can play this year. The best way to win a game like this is to take it right at them. Looking forward to this one!!!

go eags!

This is a big challenge for the EAGS, but I think they will be fired up and come out loose, and ready to play. I think they need to go big and start Groves in place of Rouse. Put Aiken on Kispert and make him earn every point. This game is not too big for Magnuson. He is poised and will handle the press and deliver some great passes. Jacob Davison will be pumped up and and I think will have a great game. Peatling is a smart player and will be solid. He will need to play his best game. Hit free throws, stay out of foul trouble early.

GO EAGS!

I hope the Eagles will be playing to WIN. If they go in playing to "not get embarrassed" that is exactly what will happen.

Good pt clawman, was thinking just that. Similiar to how they started vs Washington and jumped to that early lead.

Of course they are playing to win. Have you seen anything different from the team this year? I think this is the most competitive team I have seen in many years. I think Gonzaga better come to play.

I agree with all of this. Playing loose is going to be extremely important. On the defensive end rebounding is going to be key. K.A. might need to have 15 to 20 boards. Also, coach shouldn't be afraid to put in guys like Elijah Jackson. He is a super athletic Defender. He's also a big strong guard that could match up with some of GU's wings.

go eags!

Very proud of these guys. The EAGS never gave up in this game. They were obviously outgunned by a Gonzaga team that will be the #1 team in the nation.

I will predict now that the EAGS will sweep the BSC this season.

I was happy with how hard the team fought, but that first half was just brutal. It was the worst case scenario, Gonzaga played great and our boys were just way off. It was a big stage, and for whatever reason, we didn't have our A game going.

You can see from our losses that there is a certain kind of team that Eastern struggles to match up with. We have a lot of problems with athletic big guys. We just don't match up well. The good news is Eastern won't have to face UW or Gonzaga for the remainder of the season, so it should be out-of-sight, out-of-mind for the foreseeable future. However, if we want to continue to build the program, it'll need to be addressed.

As it stands, this team definitely has a shot to win the conference. The priority is winning the Big Sky, as it should be every year, but there are still things to be done to make us a perennial winner.
